Transfer Rumours Pre-Season

The problem with 22 year old keepers as back ups is they need game time to develop. Not sure a couple of years on the bench will really move him forward.
Maybe so, but Mark Goodlad was backup to Musslewhite in his first season with us, only playing 1 game.

Then once Mussy left he stepped up and became number 1.

Mates with Legge from Cambridge, despite him being ex-Macc he's never played for Askey. Might just be a mates thing, might not.

Of a good age and looked decent against us last year. Would question where he'd play tbh.

I thought he was decent against us last season. Certainly looked a threat with powerful running with the ball. Decision making just let him down a little but thats why he was a L2 player. Would be a good squad player for us in our system. Could play in any position across the front 3 and I would imagine a relatively cheap wages.

i believe there’s a little bit of a shake up within the coaching department in the academy this year. David Worrall and Leon Legge will be coaching in the youth teams apparently. great news for our young crop of players to be working with such experienced players

Vale offer an education programme for the players now to prepare for when they finish playing. I believe they are working toward their coaching qualifications. There are an unbelievable number of academies around the world where parents pay for coaching for their children. I think they are working towards their qualifications. Its probably attractive for some players as part of the offer we make. I think most of the players are working towards some for of qualification.

That's a brilliant idea. Especially with SGP just down the road for FA facilities for badges and exams and stuff. Great work Vale.

Every bugger has an academy these days. Shuker, Tonge, Joycey immediately come to mind.
