Looks like Mr Briscoe is this close season's WUM???

Absolutely not! My posts on the whole have been positive, just stating reservations about Whitehead. You can’t shoot someone down for having an opinion about a player can you?

As I’ve already said on this thread I would be very happy to be proven wrong and wish the lad all the best for the season. We the fans all want the same things, promotion. If we don’t achieve that next season then I still won’t be too disappointed as we have a good manager, great coaching staff and fantastic owners who have a vision for PVFC.

I’m going. To say something that people may not agree with... I’m not too bothered if Taylor doesn’t re-sign.

He didn’t play much at the back end and that’s when our form kicked on and we started to really gain some momentum.

Burgess has an INCREDIBLE record of not losing whilst playing and... and this is the reason I’m not too bothered if Taylor doesn’t sign... Burgess is ours.

Another good 6 months for Taylor and he would be off to earn big money somewhere.

Yes Taylor scores goals, but we didn’t necessarily miss them when he was injured... the System provides the goals and spreads them around.

If we could sign him on a free I would snap their hand off. But loaning him is short term gain, and based on our performances without him, we can still get results and develop our own.

I agree. Would much prefer us to sign Clark instead.

The energy that Conlon, Burgess and Whitehead provide is very exciting. Scary for those overrun opponents.
Don't think we'll be sitting back alot.
Press, press, press...Add in two attack minded, mobile full backs, a couple of wingers.
Whoosh.

Whitehead and Mills are two very good signings for League Two. Whitehead has bags of energy and plays a bit like Doug Loft. If we can get in a decent forward to complete with Cullen and Pope for a starting place (I see Rodney as more of a prospect and 4th choice currently) and a left-back (Clark would be wonderful) then I think we've got a great chance of doing something next season.

Re Manny, I understand he has become vegan. As a result of which he has lost his "bulk". I suspect this to prevent injuries. When I saw him he looks less stiff and more mobile so hopefully this cures his injury problems. If its does, it makes team selection very interesting as in my opinion he was a excellant cog in the askey machine when he played.

I stand to be corrected, I'd be amazed if Manny has played more than 15  games for Askey over the one and a bit seasons Askey has been here. I was at Orient when he got injured maybe about game 10 and not sure he was ever present up to then.

He's almost like the forgotten man and in effect a new signing.

I agree he is an important cog but I think like all of us Askey hasn't seen the proper Manny for 18 months.

I have a feeling that Rodney is thought of as a bit more than that.

Someone recently posted recently that the football dept really rate him and I reckon we will see more of him than we think.

Who knows... it will be exciting to find out!

Nobody knows how they will all fit together and grab the shirts, some shirts will always be shared for various reasons, but Askey will have a good idea. Not all will work out, but that is what football is all about, lets hope we can watch it happen.

Playing a high tempo, pressing game requires substitutions.

I would expect the midfielders to be sharing the load.

All seem capable, so, hopefully the quality and tempo will remain for 95 minutes.
