I’ve been to Wimbledon a few times and actually saw the Women’s final in 2012 when Serena Williams won in three sets. She was immense and as fit as a fiddle. She also has considerably more muscles than you!

Evidence? Speculation? Concerning if that is the case? I watched lots of women's sport like that. The remarkable East German women's athletics team of the 1970's for example!

I will add as the first bit of evidence that you were born in 1958 according to your profile.

Interestingly some your comments on this thread don't really line up with your interests of mindfulness, Buddhism and Kindness. 🙂

This is tongue in cheek before anyone takes me seriously!

My evidence is that you have never won a Wimledon singles title so she is clearly stronger and more skilful than you!

True at tennis. But it would take her 12 years to get the qualifications I have and nearly 40 years to match my subject matter expertise.

Anyway, I do respect your valient defence of women's sport and I will try to be more tolerant whilst avoiding it.

If there is one pundit I can not stand it is Michael Brown. Squeaky voice and knows eff all, and the worst manager we ever had. Good luck to the bloke, but please get off the airwaves Michael.  Closely followed by Jenas, who has nothing interesting to say at all.

On formula 1 Jenny Gow is hopeless. But so is Palmer. But Suzie Perry was excellent. Seems to me it has less to do with gender than whether you are any good or not.

It is a strange one, all down to personal taste. I could not abide Andy Townsend when he covered a match on TV. He told you what you could already see happening in front of your eyes. Nothing interesting or informative ever came out of his mouth. However now he keeps popping up on the radio and he is infinitely better and sometimes worth listening to. So the same pundit can divide my opinion based on the medium through which he is broadcasting.

So whilst I totally agree gender is irrelevant I am not sure it is down to whether anyone is good or not. That seems to be in the eye of the beholder. I hated John Motson and much preferred Barry Davies but which of them was considered the top commentator by the BBC?

Masters degree, accountant, risk manager, fraud management, lean management, project management, ISO lead, lost count. But lots of hard work. And that is why I have total respect for all women in all the professions I have met. But none for you.

Your specialist subject being misogyny.

So you respect a lot of women you’ve met but seem to belittle quite a few you haven’t met?  And please don’t start all this qualifications palaver. Matt Hancock has a first class honours degree and an MPhil from Oxford but he’s still a knob!

How upsetting. SO sad that the tedious old chauvinist doesn't respect me. (You forgot to mention going to see Tranmere, by the way.)

With all those qualifications and being a Vale fan, you really should know how to spell valiant, Warren!!

Just come across this article (granted from a few years ago) where Stefan Edberg shares his views on this subject. As an ex Wimbledon singles champion, I think it’s fair to say he knows the game.

Hot on the heels of another ex Wimbledon champ Pat Cash saying “women’s tennis is trash” here’s what the Swede had to say.
