So, because the ref changed his mind at Cheltenham, we miss out? <ovf censored> off

Yes because we are one point shy and that was the last game.

And don't tell me to eff off pal this forum is about opinions , by all means disagree without resorting to that

When being put to a vote, there are many clubs with nothing to play for. Already a number of clubs have started to release players in order to ensure their financial survival. It’s clear that most clubs would vote to end the season. However, it does start to feel a bit unfair when you’re in our situation.

There is 0 reasons why the season needs to be ended on the spot. 0.

Why can't they restart end of the year until December? Then follow up with a regional league next season. This would limit travel around the country plus 9 games + 22 (league split in half) is less than the plan for next season.

Why can't they extend the play offs?

Why is league two cancelled but league ones 'intention is to carry on'

The season is judged by 46 games. If we haven't played everyone twice it should be voided, not ended whenever they feel like it.

Article says table to be decided by weighted points per game average, where does that leave us? Also states promotion and relegation ‘yet to be decided’

There is a table in The Sentinel

We finish 8th , 0.4 points short

The issue will be different leagues using varying formulas, West Ham would go down with the way PPG weighted rules are based if the PL did not finish.  A pity a decision was not made earlier to provide or ask for some Premier League wealth to allow a complete season by all and then have a rethink.

Ultimately only Vale, Bradford, Stevenage and maybe Exeter depending on the final decision will be disappointed by the resolution made .

At least we are united as a club and hopefully this can act as an even bigger spur once football resumes whenever that may be

The only difference PPG will mean is that Swindon win the title instead of Crewe and the same teams will be in the play-offs but they will be in a different order.

I can't see how we could have carried on but I'm a bit disappointed that they still want to press on with the play offs. Especially as we would have backed ourselves to get into them. We were coming good at the right time and didn't have as tough a run-in as some of the teams around us.

There were still plenty of six pointers left to be played and no doubt there will have been some silly results flying around with the pressure on.

No relegation either.

We miss out on the playoffs that will happen by 1 point (or any one of the late goals we conceded)

BUT... strangely Im "ok" with this, we have shown SIGNIFICANT improvement this year and if there was ever a year where promotion would be tainted slightly, it would be the one where player costs would go up SIGNIFICANTLY (see below) and there is a chance fans wont be allowed to go to the games leading to reduced revenue.

Its less exciting, but for the future of the club it could just be a Godsend from a financial security point of view.

We can now keep the players on Furlough, wont have to burden promotion bonuses, wont have to pay the newly signed contracts at the higher league 1 level (Im sure they all negotiated a payrise if promoted) and we can live to fight another day.

I always want to be ambitious, and I would have loved a crack at the playoffs... but I do wonder how clubs like Crewe, with an increased wage bill (Im assuming their players have promotion clauses) and less revenue.,

Here are some league 1 wages from the 2019 season:

Rochdale: £4m

Shrewsbury: £4

AFC Wimbledon: £5m

Fleetwood: £7m

Barnsley: £8m

Synderland: £27m
