There shouldn't be any more lockdowns unless there is a real need as now there are tools to treat this disease. People vaccinated and unvaccinated should decided on the risk they're willing to accept and live accordingly.  However it is just wrong that some people won't get the jab.

People in London decided, not to risk it,  70% of restaurant bookings cancelled even higher with larger parties. Will the Govt/taxpayer compensate?

So this is where we're at. Games being postponed left right and centre, over a test that by its own inventor stated was not suitable for mass testing and can find whatever you want.

People seem to be happy with this insane testing regime which is having a massive effect on every day life including up to 10% of medical staff isolating in the middle of a supposed pandemic!

More and more people are seeing this for the madness it is but there are those out there who will continue to play ball to achieve some nominal state of safety that will never be achievable.

We'll continue in this cycle until we stop testing unless in hospital.

Until the Virus is eliminated world wide so it cannot mutate leaves us no option. Jabs to bring the pressure down on specialist hospital staff and beds, care capacity to cater for recovering patients. The backlog of deferred treatments will continue to mount.

It's never going to be eliminated. There will always be cases. The backlog is what is causing the pressure now!

A prime example of scoffing, I like a pint and overseas holidays, as a matter of fact I have been abroad twice recently, but we are now in a different ball park, to protect my family I am now being extra careful, and that is the way it will stay until the figures improve. If you wish to be hung ho then carry on.

I can't argue with a man who doesn't know simple phrases. It's gung ho.

As long as we test at this insane rate we will always get these big figures. Please feel free to hide behind your sofa but let everyone else get on with their life.

By being 'careful' you are actually ruining many more lives than those you purport to save.

I went to a popular restaurant tonight. Just over a week before Christmas it should be packed but there were loads of spare tables. After being gaslighted for nearly 2 years, these poor people will probably be out of an income in the new year. All over a virus that is being 'discovered' by a dodgy test and terrible modelling.

I hope the people behind this are dragged in front of the courts when this all comes out in the wash.

Which staff in ICUs are you listening to?
Given that as of yesterday there were only 15 people in the whole country ‘with’ Omicron (with, not because of) I fail to see how they are ‘filling up’.

Also given there are currently c7.5k people in hospital with it, compared to c40k at the peak, I’d say we have plenty of head room yet because anyone could claim, with a straight face, that we’re filling up.
Don't present them with facts George. They need to be more scared!

As I thought, testing went up significantly yesterday to over 1.6 million. Around 5% positive, which is broadly what it has been for months (between 2.5% and 5%). Why are the other 95% of people testing themselves is what I want to know! Idiots.

2 weeks ago, my wife and I tested ourselves before we travelled 70 miles to a 90s Birthday party, not a sensible thing to do?

In that instance then maybe. It's all these nutters testing when there's nothing wrong with them that is seriously boosting the numbers.

Why can't we go back to the old way of if you have a cold then probably best to stay at home and not visit elderly relatives? It's served us pretty well.

Until it can be managed we need more medical capacity. 10 years of austerity is making it worse.
If there are going to be many more mild cases that may only require a short hospital stay then why were the Nightingale hospitals decommissioned? Surely they would be perfect as a place to keep Covid out of hospitals, release the pressure and free up the hospitals to become something other than the national Covid service?

Not sure why taking precautions is the same as fear Im not scared of catching the disease or dying but for me its just a precautions the same way its a precaution putting a coat on if its raining
And that suits you and your personal circumstances. In the same way that you could argue that my lack of precautions could lead to somebody becoming ill, your extra precautions (I'm not saying you have done this, but cancelling a restaurant booking for example) has a knock on impact on people in other ways.

The hypocrisy of all this is that 2 years ago, thousands of people would walk around with the flu bug inside them (yes it's less transmissable) or a cold virus or a multitude of other viruses, or going to the shop with a cough or a sniffle and they didn't even give it a second thought. Who they might pass things on to never entered their head.

Probably the taxpayer.

But you're sound with that though, given the deadly risk lurking at every door handle.

Keep peddling the BS

If you cannot win people over without lying doesn't that tell you that you might not be in the right? Why do you keep perpetuating the bull <ovf censored>? I have a few sources for you so you can finally prove that you aren't closed minded and can change your mind in the face of new evidence.

Happy to compare sources if you can provide the one you got that from.

Why are they nutters? You do realise that is what people are to told do? Test If you have symptoms? A lot of jobs require you to test multiple times a week. Stop name calling of people who have a different <ovf censored> view to you. Every post is the same

How do you know there is nothing wrong without a test? My wife has just taken a test prior to a visit to the hairdresser.

What can't be measured can't be managed.
