Do they calculate on the same 28 day principal?

Why does the 28 day thing cause confusion. Those people have still died and does it matter when the deaths were registered when you add them all up?

The statistics seem to suggest it does matter.

If someone dies 29, 30, 31, 32 etc days after a positive test where are they recorded?

If another country uses 35 days or 20 days it totaly distorts the figures for comparison.

Do other countries use 35 days? Or 20? Obviously if someone dies after 28 days it isn't recorded. So the number of deaths could be conservative in your scenario.

I don't know, that's why asked the question.

If you start to compare you have to have comparable information or it's meaningless.

If you don't have accurate comparable statistics you just get numbers with little meaning when it comes to decision making.

Country A tests 100,000,000 and records 1,000,000 deaths

Country B tests 300,000,000 and records 2,000,000 deaths

Certification of death is a bit of a complex measure, if you’ve got damaged blood vessels relating to Diabetes and you have covid making your blood cells stickier and you have a heart attack from a massive clot in your coronary arteries… what did you die of? Sure, you were going to die anyway, we all are but covid has to be worth a mention in that scenario.

Agreed. It can be an aggravating factor. But if you've got terminal cancer with a short prognosis then test positive for Covid, you shouldn't be going into the Covid stats. It's been the problem all the way along. If you look at excess deaths, there's only been 9 years with less excess deaths since world war 2 than 2020 based on population.

Christmas lockdown on way.

Why would there be or indeed should there? 6% of hospital beds are currently taken up by people testing positive for Covid. Vaccines supposedly prevent 95%+ of hospitalisations, so where is all this pressure coming from? You can't blame increased flu and a huge backlog of people who have been too scared to get treatment. The NHS has had nearly 2 years to get its house in order. Perhaps they should reduce their rehearsal time for all the tiktok dances.

These people clamouring for further restrictions should be struck off from their positions if they are proved to be wrong. Disgusting fearmongering which is putting more lives and livelihoods at risk. I hope people go back to what these people are saying now in spring next year and bring them to task should they be proved to be wrong again.

I shan't be complying with any more lockdowns.  If my family and friends are prepared to meet up, we shall.

Obviously if business's are closed down, we are forced to comply with that.

And there in lies the problem with this country.

Not the number of physical beds that matters, it is having the specialist medical staff to deal with the patients.
