I'm not one for conspiracy theories. This, however, feels like a right crock to give them scope to go back on decisions.
They knew the grief they'd rightly get for saying Christmas is a no no, 72 hours after saying that it would be inhumane to change it.
Then, as if from nowhere, out pops a new mutant strain that is 80% more contagious but with identical symptoms.
Sorry lads, nah.

Been around since September.

I'm not saying I don't think it exists.

It's being used as an excuse for going back on decisions.

Sorry lads, nah.

Been around since September.

Also, if we knew about it then, we knew about it when the original Christmas restrictions were announced and, also, when they were reconfirmed three days before they were cancelled.

It's a farce.

London put in tier 2 when most people knew it should be in tier 3 but knob head was desperate to keep it open despite putting the north in 3 because of this it then escalates in the south he then has to put London in tier 3 and a day later into tier 4 but instead of owning up to his massive mistake he blames it on a new strain that spreads more quickly in the south ,  it’s just lies after lies

130 experts sign open letter to Boris Johnson urging he make vitamin D part of coronavirus strategy

More than 100 experts have signed an open letter urging governments to make vitamin D part of their coronavirus strategy.

Research has previously suggested patients who are ill enough to be hospitalised with the infection may endure less severe complications if their vitamin D levels are sufficiently high.

Nevertheless, on 17 December the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) concluded “there is currently not enough evidence to support taking vitamin D solely to prevent or treat COVID-19”.

While evidence of the supplement’s effectiveness may be up in the air, experts from Oxford to Princeton have signed an open letter to global governments arguing vitamin D could ward off coronavirus infections, disease and even deaths.

The letter is being sent to Boris Johnson and health secretary Matt Hancock on 21 December, calling for healthy adults to up their daily vitamin D intake to at least 2,000 international units (IU), or 50 micrograms (mcg), amid the pandemic.

With sunshine in short supply during the UK’s cold months, the NHS has always maintained “everyone should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms (mcg) [or 400 IUs] of vitamin D during the autumn and winter”.

The letter’s signatories argue vitamin D is “exceptionally safe” even at high doses, with most claiming to take at least 4,000 IUs [100 mcg] a day.

Unable to marshal the right cells and molecules to fight off the invader, the bodies of the infected instead launch an entire arsenal of weapons — a misguided barrage that can wreak havoc on healthy tissues, experts said. (Getty Images)

According to the signatories, who hail from 24 countries, “global patterns and risk factors for the COVID-19 pandemic and vitamin D deficiency match precisely”.

“Finland is the only country with an effective vitamin D food fortification programme and has had one of the best pandemic responses globally, with only 484 deaths and 22,500 recoveries [at the time of speaking],” said Dr Gareth Davies, an independent researcher and one of the “main organisers” of the letter.

“Japan is an interesting case they eat so much raw fish, one of the few natural sources of vitamin D in food, that their diet is rich enough to be sufficient over winter.

I can`t believe how reluctant the government has been to recommend this as it has been an obvious correlation from very early in this pandemic. Dr John Campbell has been tearing his hair out(he hasn`t got much) on youtube for 9 months about this and the evidence has been growing in favour of it.

We take vitamin D everyday.  Especially important at this time of year.  Currently three lots for the price of two in Boots!

Thanks for the advice Jacko51. The lady at Boots was very helpful. She said " Now you've got your B12 and B6, have you taken suppliments previously?

I said "Do you mean B4?"
