Because it was his mothers joint birthday/retirement do. Barnard castle was his wifes birthday. As you've repeatedly been told.

So I suppose him having covid symptoms and his wife having a confirmed case is part of the elaborate cover story too?

Or maybe they contracted it on purpose just in time for his mothers birthday.

Amazing how you can say that travelling across the country for childcare when you and your wife are likely to become seriously I'll is totally unreasonable but then you are happy to believe he drove across the country whilst ill to wish his mother happy birthday?

Totally crazy logic.

Sky have spoken to the witness who claimed to have seen Cummings by the river at Barnard Castle. He said he couldn’t be sure what day it was but showed the reporter where he had seen him.You couldn’t make this 5hit up.

If he took a photo of the car on his mobile, the time will be recorded.

Again, staggered by this website.

You will have to explain how wanting everyone in politics who is accused of breaking the lockdown is biased.

As that is not very clear.

Is there anything Cummings can do or say today that would make you say "oh ok fair enough, i got that wrong" ?

Let's say his child needs specialist care, or he provides categorical proof he didnt travel back to Durham a second time?

Anything at all?

If there is proof that specialist care was needed that could only be provided in Durham (given he didn’t have the virus at the stage he travelled) and that he categorically didn’t travel up again, visit a castle or a bluebell Wood ... they I would be happy with him acknowledging he used his privilege to not follow the guidelines thousands did in the same situation.

Is there anything this investigation would show that would make you say “yes sack him”

Im happy either way when we know the truth. That’s my point here ... you scream and scream for evidence and truth.

we have a mechanism now that will give us that! And you are against it!

Wouldn’t you want to know? Would t you feel completely betrayed if it’s proves he lied? Made you look like an idiot for backing him when behind your back he doesn’t care and does what he wants?

wouldn't you want to know that? Answer me that!

He could hang his testicles on the garden gate and read his dismissal letter from Boris to the news crews.......

Can I just make it clear to people who seem to be missing the point.  When Cummings drove to Durham, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION HE DID NOT HAVE THE VIRUS.  In those circumstances, the child care issue is a red herring.

Advisors are not allowed to make public statements upon political controvesy , more rules to be broken? Or perhaps he occupies a different position?

So the answer is no then, despite the guidelines having a clear allowance for childcare, there is nothing he could say that would mean that you were wrong about him breaking guidelines.

I've already answered your question, including in my very post on the matter. If it is true that he breached guidelines then yes he should go. The same is true if he has lied.

I wont feel silly though because there is mo evidence of any of that yet. And actually a few rumours swirling about the 2 witnesses that may put this to bed once and for all. If they are true of course.

Makes very little difference. He had been exposed to it at home and potentially at work too. It was entirely reasonable for him to think he would contract it.

you have answered what your view would be if he is found to have lied and breaches guidelines.

Now answer why you wouldn’t want an investigation to clear this up once and for all. You seem very against it... I can’t possibly think why.

Surely with your love of evidence you would welcome the final answer... this investigation will show if he broke further lockdown guidance as well as  lied to the government and the press.

Or do you only call for evidence when  supporting / defending your favourites?

Thats what I do t understand about you RB... one minute it’s all about fairness and finding the actual truth. The next it’s not.

My guess is because you are biased, have gotten into this argument too deep and are terrified the investigation shows up that Cummings and Boris have lied to the nation to protect themselves!

IC you are wasting your time, anybody who supports Boris, Trump, Farage and Smurthwaite says it all.

Because there needs to be a reasonable complaint in the first place for the police to investigate something, usually.

Also, is it in the public interest either way? I doubt it. And I will repeat so we are totally clear..

I dont think there should be police action against Cummings, Ali, Jones, Jennrick, Joe Bloggs, Gething, or the multiple reporters swarming around his home who all clearly breached guidelines.

But that changes for the rest of them if the police now to anti government political pressure.

You don’t think it’s in the public interest to know whether the most senior unelected democrat in the country, the chief advisor tho the PM who whether you like it or not is facing questions on his handling of the pandemic, lied to the public about guidelines that everyone else has suffered through???

Surprise surprise

Ooh, 19th time Norman has been mentioned in this thread.

I’m afraid it’s just a very very good example of how you demand evidence to the n’th degree when supporting something vs when you don’t.

I know you hate it being brought up... but as an example of your ‘morals’ in needing factual evidence and using that to beat down any bad news on someone you support... It’s a good example.

It’s not just Norman though, Boris, Farage and now Cummings are also good examples.

Its just that given the passing of time Norman Is the one that we can categorically say you let your need for evidence blind you to the obvious. So that one is probably the best example.
