Sorry, were we expecting Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson to be a man of substance? A man recorded on tape in a phone conversation conspiring to have a journalist assaulted? A bloke who's bluster and incompetence will kill thousands? Eton personified? Cowardice is no surprise.

Do you think someone with coronavirus symptoms should be driving at all let alone hundreds of miles?

No, of course not. Unless there are exceptional circumstances.

I have answered your question, how about you answer mine?

It is funny how the same people who argued how the rules were unclear and not strong enough are now arguing how clear and strong they are.

It is astonishing that Johnson used the word “integrity” when talking of Cummings’ actions when it is clear that his wife was dishonest about their situation and Cummings clearly wanted to keep his trip secret.

James O’Brien from LBC radio sums it up well here.

Johnson has cashed in a whole load of chips with people who don’t sit in his team cheerleader squad.

As I have stated before Johnson has made a career out of lying. Some idiots will welcome it though it's beyond belief.  Just give RB a little while he is digesting the full facts.

What do we think the punishment should be for their bosses if they deny they were doing it even when they know they did?

Clearly RB thinks their actions are acceptable because they were simply doing their best to get the story, protect their jobs and so look after their families. Did they drive 250 miles to get there by the way??

Lock-down  -  Do not leave your home for any reason.  How unclear is that?  Call a relative, friend, public/private service if you need to.

Just the scruffy one in a dirty orange t shirt!!

So I guess not.

The people who are seemingly appalled by the "one rule for them and one rule for us" actually want there to be one rule for Cummings and one for people who actually are breaking social distancing rules.

Who would have thought.

You do not leave home if you are self isolating.

You do not travel 250 miles and spread the virus to another part of the country.

The law is clear. It is not up top you to interpret it and bleat about exceptional circumstances, which these were clearly not.

He broke the law and we're all being taken for fools.

How can a man with such lack of judgement be the PM

Because so many clowns were taken in by the Tory media and Johnson’s lies

as lord roberts has said I’ve been in politics since 1950 and I’ve never seen a government so corrupt and incompetent

Do you think the advice by Jenny Harries on 24th March and that published on the gov website about childcare is equally clear?

You seem to have forgotten to mention it in your post.

Staggering that I've been accused of gas lighting on this site when you have people arguing that water is not wet.

I've posted the evidence sage, childcare issues when both parents are unwell is an exceptional circumstance and has been published as part of government advice since before Cummings went to Durham.

Please address that point specifically or stop spreading misinformation.

What kind of a briefing was that?

Cutting off questions. Not allowing follow ups. One sentence answers. Dreadful.

And still whining about child care when the family have relatives in London and friends down the road.

It's unbelievable.

Johnson? Trump? Little or no difference.

No integrity. No morals. One law for him and his and another for the British people.

Breathtaking arrogance and utterly shameful.

Advice from Harries isn't the law.

If you want to know what the law says listen to the ex police chief of Durham.

Laughable Sage.

How does the ex police Chief of Durham trump the people who are writing the law? The actual CURRENT police have been charging people with laws that do not exist. There are countless videos of Police officers who are making up laws as they go along.

AND the ACTUAL CURRENT police in Durham decided NO ACTION was necessary and never even spoke to Cummings or his wife.

This is insane.

I note you conveniently forgot to address the advice on the Government website part? The bit recognising that childcare issues may mean you cannot follow all parts of the lockdown?
