Brisley blow for play-off chasing Port Vale

Port Vale defender Shaun Brisley could be out for more than a month after picking up an injury in the 2-2 draw with Walsall last weekend.

The club have revealed that the central defender could be out for 4-5 weeks with a knee injury.

The news will be a huge blow for the player who has been in such impressive form he has kept usual first-choice Nathan Smith out of the central defence.

This will be incident in the Walsall penalty area, where the lad looked in excruciating pain and appeared unable to stand . The challenge wasn’t malicious and I don’t know if it was the challenge or how he landed on the ground, the ref refused to let the Vale medical staff onto the pitch, to treat him. It was right in front of me and you could tell from his face he was in agony and he wasn’t faking it, to waste time. By this time we’d used our three subs, so well done to Shaun for carrying in. True commitment,
