Possibly in the LMS days with free travel to witness the 15 goal thriller at White Hart Lane

Yes Fosse, Tommy Harmer must have felt most put out as the only Spurs scorer not to net a hat trick that day !

Still, a combined total of 12 goals from Bobby Smith, Les Allen and Cliff Jones saw Spurs scrape through by the narrowest of 11 goal margins.

I think the Alex will surprise us with how many they bring. They could well come Vale cemented in the top 3 so would expect closer to 2000. Not sure where Stoke are that afternoon but would think a few floating fans may join the away fans.

Stoke have no game that weekend, due to internationals (Euro 2020 play-offs and friendlies).

I think the problem with the Port Vale away fixture is that a lot of families are put off by the threat of violence and don’t want their kids exposed to that sort of thing. It’s a shame really, but it’s not a hospitable ground to visit on derby day. I wish things were different. I would expect us to bring at least 1,500 though.

I actually think our fans behavior has been better this season.  Don't remember any real trouble ( apologies if there has been any and I haven't spotted it, I'm often away in Cornwall and may have missed it)  The last trouble I remember was the infamous Stoke match - and that wasn't our fault in any way!   Although I seem to remember Crewe coach windows being smashed 6 or 7 years ago?, I believe since then the majority of any trouble at derby games has been Crewe fans, flares , minor pitch invasions, bottles etc. Your comment re your stewards made me laugh - they do nothing, remember that Stoke idiot a few months ago, they took an age to attempt to remove him - same with the  "fan" who assaulted our goalie etc. I'm sure if those incidents had involved us, the FA would have thrown the book at us. Jacko commented once that we were told to sit anywhere when we entered - you have to retain 10% of the tickets if you do that - but Crewe seem to get away with everything as if they have some hold over the authorities.  Ar tells extreme referee abuse after your Plymouth match being another good example.

Personally, as Crewe are doing so well, I think they will bring close to 2000 this year, as they are expecting victory.

Good point that is Re Artell, how can his highly abusive  interview about the Ref be allowed to escape punishment ?

Although they seem to get away with alot, can you imagine a Vale manager sounding off like that and not getting fined ?

He probably has got fined but they sweep it under the carpet, he got a two match ban for running up the touchline against us yet that wasn't reported as they do seem to have a hold over the authorities.

Don't get me started over Bennell.
