Can't find it now but someone had a photo on twitter last week taken from the southwest corner of the bycars and the distance between the touchline and the edge of the grass/track is insane. Must have been taken in since Adams, can't remember it ever looking that massive before.

In the early 60s most of that unused grass was actually used. Around 65/66 Vales width was cut by 2 yds either side under the direction of Stan Matthews when he started playing the Youth . I think someone else too another yard off in the 70s, but am not sure about that one  though.
