I’d be surprised if Askey plays the same team again next week. In his post match interview he alluded to not being happy with some players. Straight off the bat I’ll say that Amoo will come for Browne. Monty didn’t have a great game but with Clark out he’ll keep his place at left back for now. There’s always the chance that he’ll replace Cullen too. If Brisley is injured after that late challenge on him then that will see Gibbo come in too.

Adebayo was someone I mentioned in the summer transfer window thread. I thought he looked useful on loan at Swindon against us and kept an eye on him since.

He has a similar goal record at Walsall as he did at Swindon but I think he'd flourish in a side like ours in the loan striker role.

I thought McDonald, their #25 looked like a tricky wide man too! Hoping we pick up someone like them in the summer!

Interesting that the Colchester team comprehensively beaten last week by today’s starting 11 have won at big spending Salford today....🤔

Terrible goals to concede really, the 2nd worse than the 1st because of errors in both full back positions.

I don’t think it would have mattered who came on for anything to stick ,we couldn’t get the ball off them until the last ten minutes of the second half.By the way,Cullen was involved in our second goal with a neat take and pass.

You say "as well".  So if they were both grappling, why did Walsall get the free kick?  It looked to me like Pope was trying to escape from the defender's grapple rather than committing a foul himself.

We sat in the main stand ,it looked no more than a tussle.I’d have been dissapointed if a penalty had been given against us for that clash,roles reversed.

So why did he give a free kick to them if he couldn't see it?  Blatant pen for me, was right in front of us..  We gave away numerous silly free kicks, but have to say when they fouled us....nothing, again!!!  Very entertaining game, decent side Walsall,  Don't really know whether it was a point gained or a point lost. Shame other results went against us. Thought we were going to nick it at the end.  great following, 2300+  terrific that.

The ref was alright. Surprised Askey is singling out individuals. No one had a stinker, we just weren't on it today collectively. Against a decent team that made life difficult. Got a point, move on. No drama.

Should have known it wouldn't be our day when all the trains from Rugeley to Walsall were cancelled so had to jump in a taxi and arrived five minutes before kick off. Thought Walsall made us look like a team with makeshift full backs today and fully expect Gibbons to be back next week. Also thought that we lacked a bit of energy with the high press Askey likes non existent today. Brown knows he should have done better with the first but made up for it with an impossible stop in the second half. More of a point gained than two dropped today.

Disappointing to get overloaded so much against a team who played two up top.
