So what Football decides to do is punish a club who invested heavily in the team plus also completely regenerated the whole local area and created Jobs and better community for all.
While just down the road at Bury and Bolton the same eyes watching over the health of football have seen fit to ignore.
Which means we have now got one less team.

They are in the knockout stages of the Champions League now. They pissed off UEFA, not the Premier League.

Have to say I have no interest in the Champions League. But the whole thing is that Manchester City are new to the big money "elites". FFP was created by the elites to prevent their stranglehold on elite competition being breached by "new money" types like Manchester City. It's pretty naive to think FFP is in any way related to fairness, purity of competition or stabilising club finances.

Exactly. Real Madrid in particular have been bending the rules for decades.  Manchester United are considered compliant with the rules despite having eye watering debt.  Whilst City have undoubtedly broken the rules, they are not the only ones and the way in which this case has been conducted by UEFA absolutely stinks.

Not quite, UEFA manage the Champions League,   squabbles between the kings of Europe who maybe are  none to happy with newcomers ManC. use of sponsorship.  Bury and Bolton are the responsibility of the FA, who manage not very well the relationship between the Prem and EFL.

Quote from The Independent, "City could now also face a Premier League points deduction, with potential punishments already discussed ahead of UEFA's ruling."

Well we'll see. If they are indeed banned from Europe next season then a points deduction this season would be irrelevant. A points deduction next season would hand Liverpool the title and so kill a lot of interest in the Premier League.

It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Probably the right thing to do to ensure rules are enforced.

Champions league will be interesting next year then as I expect no PSG, real, Barcelona, inter or Juventus.

Leicester might be in with a shout!

Apparently Manchester City have been analysing other big club's accounts as best they can for the last few years. A case of "well if we're getting done for this then you guys can suffer too!"

Owners just banging money into the club from their own pockets, like others have pointed out other clubs need a closer examination especially a team that plies it’s trade in France.

Why is it that EPL didn’t instigate the investigation.? Could it be that it wouldn’t look good for them. I sometimes catch match of the day which is enough probably too much of the EPL for me. There are always empty seats a the Emptihad, but I don’t know why. City fans have also had previous problems with EUFA so that could be a reason that they’ve made an example of them.

The Daily Star reporting that they could be in L2, I can’t see it as once you have a certain amount of wealth you are Teflon against the law. If they were put in a lower league would we still take 8,000 fans to the away game.?

Apparently any team expelled from the Prem are placed in L2 by the FL. So presumably 1 less team is relegated from the Championship and L1 that season.
