I thought the ref was consistent.  None of the bookings were due to conditions they were for players cynically stopping attaking opportunities.  He tried to keep the game flowing, which despite the card count favoured the way we play.

It is possible. Depending on what the teams do with their games in hand but it is certainly not out of question.

The ref was very consistent in the end and had a good game.  Wish we had more like him.

Going back to my post re Squad and Teamwork, it does seem that JA and his team (I include the owners in this) have tried to put a team together with no massive egos, they seem to have comaradery and that is proving to be the reason behind our progression.

This time last year - wondering if we would be a club at the end of the season or even in league 2 - to now pushing for promotion.

Suberb performance by the Vale, three great goals, Vale just wanted it more than Colchester in the atrocious conditions.

John Askey has got the chemistry right in this team, he has a way of playing and players coming into the team know what to do and fit in seamlessly.

Askey now has a real selection dilemma.  No Pope, Crookes, Oyeleke, Taylor, Gibbons, Clark and Amoo. There were a lot of comments about quantity over quality yet at the business end of the season it looks like he got the squad size just about right. I suspect Askey will keep the starting 11 for the next game, as he doesn't just pick his favorite 11 in the replacements do well - which is probably why the players seem to universally respect him. Some of the more negative posters from July and August have disappeared.
