Walsall away Tickets

vale on toower

Recommended Posts

2,177 sold at the close of business.

An outstanding following that builds on sell outs at Crewe, Salford, Macclesfield, and Man City, and a consistency of 5000+ at home (6 of our last 8 home games).

Some clubs in this division couldn't dream of a home attendance of that size; and all bar a select few won't come close to an away following of that size.

Up the Whites. See yous tomorrow.

That was our first ever visit to Burton, had fans crammed in that terrace so they ended up stood on the pitch area behind the goal for a while whilst they moved the home fans down the terrace on the side and then put them in there with police acting as a cordon between the sets of fans. Luckily for Burton it was behind our goalkeeper at the time!

That was not the time I was thinking of but I was there too. Chaos.

Ok folks.
If tomorrow's following is larger than we ever take to Crewe, when was the last time we took more fans away for a league game?
Rochdale in the promotions season, Wycombe?

3500 plus at Wrexham 93/94 promotion season

In the promotion season of 69/70 we took loads of coaches to Wrexham and also a special train - there was over 19k that day and Vale fans were everywhere .

I remember Wrexham away one season and we lost 2-1, 8 of us on the train on the way there and about 2000 on the way back, ticket inspector got and and shouted tickets please and everyone just laughed... Police came on and just told them to get us out of there sharpish. Despite the lost was a good day out, and a bloke through up on bill bells shoes outside the ground...

I went to Stockport when we sealed promotion in the 80’s, their average attendance was about 2,000, 5,500 that night....

Jim Steel. Not a name which is spoken much in relation to Vale glory days but he put us in Div 3.

Lovely sunny Friday evening. I remember a police lady standing a little too close to some if the lads behind the goal. Anyway, it was a great night, but it took ages to get back to Kidsgrove on the train, as there were so many fans at Stockport station.
