Carol speaks again...../Calls out the Moaners

Iron Curtain

Recommended Posts

As a person who donates monthly to a national charity and volunteers with two local charities, like many others do, I’m not sure my conscience would allow me to donate money to a private company. This may sound selfish, but the day I can’t get a ticket due to all parts of the ground being full, then and only then I may consider it. I’m all for supporting C&K and will fir ever be eternally in debt to them fir saving my beloved PVFC, but are we trying to run before we are walking. ‘Championship ready’, wow that’s some ambition, but it could take years or never happen. There clubs who have more financial power than us that remain in the lower leagues. Let’s realise where we are now and do things gradually. The money from MCFC won’t go that far in today’s game. Does anyone actually know how much we made from that game.?

Anyone with issues of conscience could either make a matching donation to the charity of their choice, as I would do, or simply opt out.  After all it wouldn’t be compulsory to donate.  But to make disparaging comments about the fund raising idea is poor form in my opinion.  The point is, as has been stated on numerous times in this topic, the upcoming concert is forcing the issue.  Seats are going in come what may.  We may as well go the extra yard.

For those that have said it shouldn't be done as the money should go somewhere else. That isnt the option, it's just do you wan't the Supporters club to raise money to complete Lorne Street. If you say no, then it just means there won't be any money raised by the Supporters club and it will be done by fans without the Supporters club organising.
So I cannot see why anybody would be against.
Exactly, people saying they would prefer the money to be spent elsewhere!!! There is no money, how can anyone be against helping the club?

This is a terrible idea in my opinion.  I sincerely hope Carol puts a stop to it.

If fans have got £100k spare, then give it to charities that help people in desperate need and not to a privately owned business to create an asset.

Its socially irresponsible and crass.

It's a sad state of humanity when folk will find the money for a stand we dont need rather than for causes that help the vulnerable and yes I realise a few of you will already support other causes but give more rather than give to wealthy people who run two multi million pound companies.

silly statement and not thought through , people can spend their hard earned money on what they like , people give to charity and other things and Vale park now with Carol and co in charge is a hub for community and charity events so indirectly money to the club is helping these causes !!!

Besides, the club has just had a windfall.  They have obviously decided that spending any of that money on a Concorse would not be of any benefit at this time.  So why on earth are the fans wanting to bring something up the list of priorities that is deemed to be of little benefit to the club at this time?

I dont get it at all.  If you want to show support to Carol and the club, go and clear the shop out of its merchandise, get your season tickets, get in the ground early and spend your money there instead of in the pubs, book your functions there...  and then let the owners decide where that revenue best benefits the club.

If you do not get it don't contribute any monies then nobody will beg you to but stop knocking people who are prepared to help our club out.

It is a fan`s decision if they want a family area earlier than currently planned, it would  be to the benefit of families who would not otherwise come due to the age of their children as well as current families enjoying better facilities than say the paddock at present. I am sure if a fund raising appears viable Carol will outline the facilities to be provided. The area could also be used during the week for other activities. A football club belongs to the community, the owners are custodians, whether it is used as a cash cow or a community centre is up to the owners. Very few clubs run at a profit, to be successful it has to be a joint exercise, chipping in for players etc helps sometimes.

Dont you think that should be verified first and if people want to fund raise then that's up to them but why not let the owners decide where it is best used rather than forcing them to open a stand that isnt needed and the matchday costs that would incur with no extra revenue generated to cover it?

I had hoped the days of fans trying to run Port Vale were over.

Whatever you are on, come off it.

She's literally asked for fans to donate. This isn't being forced on them. I suspect you know that full well.

Quote

"If any Vale fan would like to give us £100,000 it would be gratefully received! But we can't prioritise that just at the moment.

"I want to because I want that to be the family area. I desperately want those seats to be the family area and for that to be a family concourse and have the area around it where kids can go.

"Also, I have been talking about autism and having a space for kids and adults to go. They can be okay to go to a match because they know, if they struggle, they can get out of the way quickly, that area would be ideal for that.

"Or, for example if someone has Epilepsy, and felt they needed to get away, they would be able to do so.  So, it is really important to me that we get that as a family concourse.

"But that isn't going to just happen. We need funding. If anyone would like to donate, they can. That would be great and we would happily move it up the priority list.

Now we know who the weirdo hiding behind the 'Pepe le Pew' pseudonym on Pint of Vale is.

There are at least 2 fans that own and are currently running Port Vale now!!!

It takes a "special" type of socialist to tell people what to do with the money they have earned.

I take exception to the idea.

I won't buy "stuff" from the shop because they don't have anything I would use or wear.

If you think it has to come from the club's budget how about increasing the st price by £60 And walk up prices to £35......

Or we could just leave it at the discretion of the fans.....
