Do you have to voted in to be an European Commisioner or is it in the gift of the the government of the day ? Because Mandelson became one.

Each country supplies a candidate commissioner for selection based on experience for the most appropriate post.  Candidates are then allocated posts and agreed or otherwise by the MEPs.

I don't think you understand how a treaty works. If you sign up for something like The European Convention on Human Rights you are then limited to to passing future laws that are compatible with that convention. So you agree to give up some sovereignty when you sign.

Sovereignty is the ability to make the decision, not the decision you make.

Can name 2 people who are unelected and make or made decisions at No 10,

1.  Dominic Cummings

2.   Carrie Symonds

Peter Mandelson, in full Peter Benjamin Mandelson, (born Oct. 21, 1953, London, Eng.), British politician, who was a leading adviser to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a member of the British House of Commons (1992–2004), and business secretary (2008–10) under Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Was one too.

Wasn’t Mandelson the elected MP for Hartlepool

We don't have the ability to make a decision that breaks any of the treaties and conventions we've signed for. Exactly the same as it was when we were in the EU.  The sovereignty argument was meaningless.

Can you name any of the 24,000+ unelected bureaucrats in the EU?

You are going to sh*t yourself when you hear about the civil service. The basic ignorance some of you show, or purposeful ignorance in order to make your opinions fit your world view, is staggering.

800 members of the House of Lords.

Completely undemocratic. Also the current voting system is also completely undemocratic. Majority of the country did not vote Tory yet we have the most right wing govermment we've ever had making the decisions about our lives. More people voted for parties who supported a people's vote/remain in the last election, yet we are going through a hard brexit and not remaining in the single market (like all the brexiteers promised and lied about).

Our votes do not matter in this dreadful system.

THIS VOTING SYSTEM IS THE REAL KILLER OF DEMOCRACY!

So they arent voted for, they're allocated, in other words they are allocated a place in the commission not by being voted for but on experience and probably favour.

They are allocated by those who have been voted for.
