New Board Structure

it must be one of the most diverse boards in the Football League with four female board members. It's a great example and shows football boardrooms should not just be male dominated.
It's always such a positive to be making a difference surrounding integration and diversity.

Whenever the issue of BAME coaches and managers is in the news, we always get positive coverage due to Sevvy Aslam doing such an amazing job with our academy. Now we are leading the way at board level too!

Fantastic that we have got such a professional structure in place. A world apart from 12 months ago.

It fits perfectly, the intertwining of both businesses, and hopefully it will mean no stone goes unturned in maximising our potential revenue and opportunities.

More great news for this rapidly evolving, modernised and enterprising football club.

And yes, that is Port Vale Football Club I’m describing. Wow, what a difference a year makes. The good times are back. UTV.

This assembly of talent is refreshing to see from a operational perspective and will no doubt drive the club to better places, just as they have achieved in their respective roles with Synectics.

I’m certain they’ve been chosen because they are the best for the job or showing the potential to become the best person for the job. Professionalism is something that has been sadly lacking in so many areas of the club and this move will finally address such issues.

I’m a big believer in giving anybody the chance to be considered for any role in life, but the ultimate decision should be made on merit, ability, attitude or potential and not simply to satisfy overused political-correctness.

It is nice to see but from a practical viewpoint I couldn't care less if they're male or female as long as they're the best person for the job!

I'm excited about the future of this club once again and it feels great!

Exactly. Diversity shouldn’t come into it. They will simply be the best/right people for the challenge.

This. I don’t care who does the job as long they are the right person and that should apply in all walks of life. We’re too focused on “ticking boxes” these days and being worried about gender and cultural diversity and being too careful not to offend anyone.

Good grief, lads.

How has a nice thread about us having a professional board of directors turned into people going on about 'being worried about gender and cultural diversity' and 'everyone is offended nowadays', talking about 'satisfying political correctness'?

Absolutely obsessed, some of you. Just save it for the political threads.

When this board announcement was made I was just pleased that we seem to have people with specialist knowledge & skills to improve the club in various areas.

I never even noticed or thought relevant anything to do with gender.........until a post and front page article headlining the 'diverse board' and counting the number of women involved rammed the point home.

To me it just reflects who in Synectics has skills useful to Port Vale

It’s a great, professional move and can only take us forward, my only concern is, are they, and how much are they getting paid, 5 directors wouldn’t come cheap.

I am quite happy for Carol to look after those aspects.
