Tom Pope banned for second time this season for Twitter post

Port Vale’s leading scorer Tom Pope has been banned for a second time this season for an inappropriate tweet.

The 34-year-old forward has also been fined £1,500 after a breach of FA Rule E3 was found proven by an independent panel.

In November, Pope was given a one-game ban relating to his social media use.

As a result of his latest suspension, Pope will miss Saturday’s League Two match away at leaders Swindon Town.

No point moaning about it we need to get on with it. I thought Cullen played really well on Saturday and I’m not that fearful of going to Swindon with Cullen up front. He drops back to pick up the ball,so is closer to the forward support and he still manages to get into the area.  Believe if not for TP, Cullen would be our first choice striker.

Does anyone know if the club will fine TP, for bringing the club into disrepute or for possible breach of contract.?
