Running on empty – Swindon Town boss concerned ahead of Port Vale clash

Swindon Town manager Richie Wellens thinks his Swindon squad is stretched to the limits as they prepare to take on the Valiants.

Town’s bench for the defeat to Newport County comprised mainly of teenagers and Wellens thinks his squad needs boosting ahead of Vale’s visit.

He told the local media: “The squad now – because we’ve been running on empty a little bit over the past few weeks – needs some help, it needs some refuelling and it needs a boost with an extra couple of bodies coming through the door.”
