Match Thread: Stevenage v Port Vale

Interesting contrast with the Guardiola and Westley playing styles.  But for us the real stakes are league points to push on. Westley`s niggly tactics have brought little reward since his mid - December re-appointment, hopefully his bounce will stay flat. Stevenage play at Bristol Rovers Wednesday night whether it will affect them who knows. Assuming, Amoo, Burgess, Legge, Pope, Taylor, and Worrall, are properly rested by not playing on Tuesday, and thus we are restored to our proper strength, let us emphasise our class and confidence evident at the Etihad. 3 points for the Vale please and concentrate on the league.

Agree , same team as last Saturday. Bit of trepidation about this one, never seem to get much here and bad memory of a speeding offence about 3 seasons ago .

Fancy us more at Morecambe than here but we need 7 points from the next 3 before we go to Swindon otherwise the play offs will be vanishing in the distance.

Straight after Salford, we face what is really another non-league side at another non-league stadium managed by none other than Graham Westley, a manager who would be better off in non-league. After City there couldn't be a greater contrast and a really dire prospect if Westley employs his usual desperate tactics. Let's hope we don't sink to their level and come away with three points. Not looking forward to this one!

If we lose this, playoffs can be kissed goodbye. Stevenage have always been awful but this year have no stand out players to pull them out of the mire.

Westley to his credit makes limited teams hard to beat, I never remember us having an easy game even when at Barnet.

1-1 might not be too bad, but really we will need to be winning these.

Players rested on tuesday will be straight back in the team, as none of the fringe players did anything to push for a starting slot.

Just hope the side that turn up actually play to win and not just to grab their wages.  Our record against teams well below us is not good, so not taking it for granted we will either win or draw this game.

We need 3 points to start our push for the play offs.
