If a car hit Smurthwaite, I doubt it would be fit to run.

The Sentinel are suggesting that this person failed to stop which is a crime in itself. If I was the driver I'd be taking advice.

The day after the incident, I think we played Carlisle. When I walked up to the ground before the game, I could see at the entrance to the old Normid Car Park that there were spray paint markings at the entrance, marking out the four corners of something that was about the same size as a car.

Also the Police closed Hamil Road for about several hours to gather evidence didn't they?

And wasn't it the night before the first big protest was planned?  And didn't it get called off because of this "accident"?  And why, if the injuries are described as "minor" did the victim spend two nights in hospital?

He may have spent two nights in Hospital with a dodgy ticker at the thought of Lorraine catching him.

What investigation?

Phantom car, no witnesses, minor injuries that need 2 days hospital treatment.... were they investigating a crime?...... or were they investigating the report of a crime?..... Will it be recorded as unsolved or no crime?

Perhaps the car wasn't a Vauxhall but a phantom Rolls Royce  driven by someone named Bill.

Perhaps the steam can finally stop rising from this story and the stench can blow away.
