I think its time for the club to get tough with him. 2nd time he's been banned this season for breaching FA rules on Twitter and it doesn't even take into account his infamous tweet.

We need to give him a final warning , breaches rules again then I'm sorry he's got to go. Legend or not!

Cullen should have kept his place anyway whether Popey was banned or not.

Pope punishment and fine is the baseline again. It has not escalated so it looks like the finding of improper only has saved him. However, I am confused because a Sky news bottom of screen comment was this was unrelated to the post Man City incident. So is that still to come?

In the meantime, I think Cullen is Championship level striker and he should keep Pope and Bennett on the subs bench long term. But he has to show that and where better than the League leaders on Saturday.

I had to do my online diversity training recently. Good package, very informative and 95% in agreement with the Equality Act 2010 etc. But the place we have reached is that positive discrimination in favour of an ethnic minority candidate in a drawn job interview situation is legal if that ethnic group is under represented in the workforce. Then we can talk about situations that turn daft. Like recruiting from a group of employees to a project that needs to be completed urgently. But you can't take account of Mary being pregnant and going of on maternity leave next week if she has applied; have to ignore that issue completely. So Mary maybe the best candidate and get appointed, but the outcome is the project get's postponed or a second appointment has to be made so it can go ahead. There all sorts of acceptances and tolerances that people from my generation have to adapt to with equality legislation and other sensitivities. Sometimes I am not prepared to do that myself; but here Tom Pope just needs to be more careful because the amount of things to fall over is enormous irrespective of twitter being a medium that tends to get people to say stuff they wouldn't normally - whilst at the same time as allowing Trump centre stage of course. Profit talks as well.

Our Chair Lady Carol has just liked the following tweet:

I see Tom Pope “saying what he wants” has gone well for him again

Make of it what you will. This is on her public Twitter profile, is still there as far as I can see.

I have a relative who has a habit of saying "I'll say what I want" when chastised for an offensive remark.  One of these days I'll say exactly what I want back and believe me, she won't like it!
