Typical Vale. Two steps forward and three back. Feel more angry tonight than I did proud on Saturday night. Yes tinpot trophy it might be, but it’s one we’ve won twice and if we’d got to the final then it would have set us up great for a proper go at things next year 😡😡😡

Excuses will be the pitch was poor.  No Salford managed to play their game on it.  No a lot of the Vale players went missing and those who tried can't do it all.

This shows the squad is not able to come in and push for a saturday place.  They are too young/inexperienced or just can't do it.

Why are we not interested in going further in this competition. Surely he knows Salford play lump ball and he drops the best defender to the bench. Centre forward on left wing. More than anything this shows the matches the reserves are playing are not good enough to get players match fit. From the highs of Saturday to the depths of despair.

I agree. The lack of reserve games cannot help.

Evidently JA didn't agree with you - he didn't put out his strongest team.

Don't think JA put out his 4th best side after this game.  5 or 6 players tried tonight and the others went missing.

The fringe players had a good chance to show the manager what they can do and say hay pick me for saturday's squad.  What really happened was - JA and Co will be thinking god they are crap and would not make the lads and dads sunday league.

That was really depressing. We played a weakened team, but you would hope the peripheral players would come in, add some energy and stake a claim for a first team place. And they were hopeless. I want to like them. Get behind them. But on that evidence they are just not up to scratch. Naming no names but there were some bloody poor performances out there.

None from the regulars.

I’ll do it for you...Bennett, Cullen and Browne. Crap all of them.
