Your average when you were in the third tier was 28,273.  Your stats don't make sense.

Jacko, City fans have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to attendances, hence the "we're not really here" song they sing. It is an excuse to make things up. Aside from that, most are sound in my experience and remember where they have come from, just not how many watched them when they were there!

Sadly there'll always be a few but I bet the vast majority of true football mad City fans will have left the Etihad pleased they won but impressed with the spirit of Port Vale Football Club, it's team and their fans and impressed with Tom Pope's goal and the build up to it.

From the pictures/video I saw I only saw dignity, respect, and time shown by Man City staff, officials and players towards everyone from PVFC and that included one of the greatest ever coaches to manage  a football team and some great, great players.

Thanks to the FA Cup for giving Vale the chance to play Man City and make a few bob, it's a lifeline to club's like ours.

Listened to the radio stoke commentary of the goal today just to hear what their reaction was, I love it when presenters lose their s h i t over a goal. Of course in the background you can hear Sproson screaming as Blakemans voice goes up 2 octaves. Then it cuts to Sproson who in typical Sproson style proceeds to big up Taylor’s contribution to the goal with his unbelievable touch, and vision and ball into Amoo, when it wasn’t actually him that played Amoo in. He’s trying to rack that price tag up 🙂

My apologies, as others have stated, the near 61000 was the highest attendance while in the old division  2, now called The Championship

They didn’t AVERAGE 61000, but they did get 61000 v Sunderland in div 2 in 1974, I was in the Stretford end that day.

I've followed City in many leagues but watching them in the premiership is by far the best experience.  

Why come onto our forum just to antagonise supporters? Get back to the City forum and leave this to fans of a proper club.

There’s are many things to like about Man City in my book, but if I was a City fan I’d be getting myself to a lower league proper club ASAP. The whole thing was so false. The Jesus thing on the outside of the stadium, all this talk of the 93:20 game. So cringeworthy to real football fans. If the Vale ever turn into that, I’ll be elsewhere.
