I'm looking forward to this one especially as it's my birthday weekend - it would be a great occasion to celebrate being another year older by watching another giantkilling.

My head says our defence won't get a cleansheet against Man City's attack but I fancy Pope to enjoy himself if they pick a rookie defence.

I’m 65 myself tomorrow Rob.Last time a game of similar magnitude,on my birthday, was Arsenal away.2-1 for the Valiants tomorrow. Many happy returns.

Most City fans would probably pick Garcia and Harwood-Bellis to start (17 and 18) on the basis that it's better to play specialist defenders, even if they are young, over a midfielder and aging defender.  Playing young players is the one area in which I would criticise Pep.  Barcelona and Real Madrid are not afraid to play very young players.  Neither are Liverpool.

Our main striker and club legend Tom Pope would certainly relish playing against two very young and relatively inexperienced centre backs. He’s a proper old fashioned forward and would definitely be winding them up and try to get at them from the start.

I’m really looking forward to the game and the atmosphere! Cannot wait to visit your stadium either as it looks fantastic on TV!

I reckon anything upwards of 5-0 as a final score. Just hoping you play some of your stars as I would love to watch KDB and Sterling live! Even if they come on as subs and play 15 minutes!

One player to look out for is Tommy Doyle the grandson of Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe who older Vale fans might remember.  He might feature.  He plays as a deep-lying midifelder.  Tenacious but also a very good footballer.  He's played in a League Cup tie.

Fantastic game for the Vale tomorrow - a once in a lifetime chance to play the champions and one of the very best footballing teams in the world, managed by a genius. A day to savour for everyone. Let's hope we can do ourselves justice and keep the scoreline respectable!

I remember those days, Naz. Off the top of my head; Corrigan, Book(?), Pardoe, Doyle, Booth, ?, Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Young, ?. I can't remember the other two but come on, 9/11 isn't too shabby. Wonderful team. Even Lee one pen. I saw them a few times and enjoyed watching them. Didn't they win the league at Newcastle?  Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison in their pomp. Fedora and cigar at hand. The sixties was a fabulous time for watching football. I'm just in two minds as to who was the greatest player - Bell or Silva? Silva is a gem of a player and probably the best I've seen in the last few years, very underrated. But I do have a hankering for local players and English boys.... so we'll call it a score draw.

It's going to be a real treat to see Port Vale run out at the Etihad. I hope Silva makes an appearance.

Yeah love this... we will make changes... just a world cup and two times European Championship winner in Silva to come in! Just Mahrez... instrumental in winning Leicester the title or Aguero... or Jesus...

Buzzing though today... purely for the atmosphere.

Going to be a very emotional day, one way or another.

I'm certainly going to relish 8,000 plus Valiants giving Citeh fans a taste of the Vale family atmosphere.

I honestly pray that I am in tears at the end.....tears of joy that our favourites have played their hearts out, come what may and that we can all hold our heads high in the fact that Carol and Kevin can sink a few bevvies with the Man City hierarchy following a fantastic showing of the players and fans.

Maybe I'll be too intoxicated to fully grasp the meaning of the day as it will be one of the biggest in our history. But I will be on my feet, singing, dancing and lauding our squad at the final whistle, no matter what the score.

Off to bed early tonight to dream of a mighty upset and then onto the pub visits prior to the kick off. I feel like a kid at Christmas. What a truly wonderful thing football is when the lesser Clubs like ours are given these special days . I have been to many, many away games , in the depths of winter, in freezing, wet miserable conditions and sometimes alongside only a handful of Vale fans and I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.  BUT....  my God tomorrow is going to rank as one of the best, enjoyable days mingling with the thousands of fervent Vale fans.

Enjoy everyone. We'll all look back some day in the future and say " I was there."  UTV.

Aup OneStep, if you 'feel like a kid at Christmas', imagine how our young Mascots must be feeling? 😎

Sorry if this has been asked millions of times before, but does anyone know what time the busses are meant to get to the stadium at tomorrow?

Well they leave @ 2pm and this is the new Man City initiative, plus some details for fans

 https://www.mancity.com/news/tickets-and-travel/tickets-and-travel/2020/january/man-city-port-vale-supporter-information

so I presume at the worst an hour before kick off.

They've got many, many years infront of them drooling over the Vale, whereas mate I'm in my twilight years and am going to act like a young kid all day tomorrow! 👲
