Poor from Askey today, dunno why he changed a team that beat the league leaders for a team of duffers.

You don’t know why he decided not to play 34 yr old Tom Pope in what would have been his 3rd game Leading the line by himself in 7 days???

Summed us up. Expectations are so high yet we can't beat dross like them. If we are happy with 10th ish then fine. If we want a promotion push then it won't be done under Askey. Our choice.

Askey has had less than 12 months in charge, one transfer window and a limited budget. We have come on leaps and bounds since this time last year when we could barely win a raffle. Give the bloke some time.

I think it's a measure of the progress Askey has made this season that we're all sounding disappointed when we don't beat sides below us at home. The prospect of the playoffs is tantalising but today showed that we are too inconsistent to be considered serious contenders. We might do it, if we can strengthen the side in January and find that elusive winning mentality, but it's unlikely. Yes, definitely a transitional season.

What does do my head in is.When Vale are defending a corner or a free kick we never have a player in or around the centre circle / half way line waiting for the break. Its always the same. Why?

What a load of nonsense. If we give Askey time he will build something here but your attitude their stinks of modern football turd.

I think it’s obvious why he didn’t pick him. But you do have to question it after Sunday’s performance. Should always pick the best side and not sure he did today. Still, we didn’t lose.

A bit harsh? It was always going to be a tough fixture, sandwiched between a game against the league leaders and a huge cup game.

The game ebbed and flowed.  We struggled against their midfield runners 7 and 20.

Poor today so understandably some knee jerk reactions after the match but what you been smoking. Askey has us punching well above our weight at the minute. He is slowly building something along with Carol and Kevin.

Time and time again, Vale fans manage to out-do themselves with truly ludicrous opinions, which conveniently were nowhere to be seen after we stuffed the league leaders. I've just audibly laughed at one post.

See you all on Saturday.

An early contender for daftest post of the decade... it will take some beating though! 😂

Did you see the effort 34 yr old Tom Pope put in against Swindon 3 days ago?

Also anyone who labels the Silkmen 'dross', considering their budget, set-up, absent owner, very fragile future, and lack of regular wages, hasn't been paying attention.

Played some lovely football, scored two cracking goals, and had several players who played excellently. A good attitude, with no diving or time-wasting. They've had 4 points from us this season and you can't argue with either result.

Sincerely hope they get sorted out.

It’s not our choice. It’s your anti Askey drivel raising its ugly head again. Get back to your kennel

Whilst I acknowledge Macc weren't bad let's not make them out to be something they aren't. They would be 18th without the points deducted.

They are an average to poor side who have taken 4 points off us.

Let's have some balance, they are not dross nor are they a good side as some have suggested.
