I would rest Pope for this one and play the much more mobile Archer, who might be able to pressure the deep lying Grant into mistakes.

Massive round of applause for Grant from me, the match when he ran on the pitch at the end to remonstrate with the ref was particularly memorable.

I think we need to give Archer a start in the league at some point soon to see what he can do. Tomorrow is a good shout as it’s a bit of a free hit and also gives us a chance to rest Pope.

Brown

Gibbons Legge Smith Montano

Conlon Joyce Atkinson

Amoo Pope Worrall

Would go for experience and energy in the middle; get Conlon to stick to Grant and then hope our usually excellent centre halves can stymie Doyle.

If its tight in the 60th, bring on Taylor, Browne, or Archer; get some pace in and have a go for the last half hour.

Pope simply has to start scoring more; he does bring a decent amount but by any metric, 3 in 20, or 1 every 324 minutes, is not a return any striker would be fond of. He's had a very decent run of starts since Cheltenham (and rightly so) but hasn't delivered with the goals. Today would be an excellent day to regain some form.

Sensible people would predict a 2-0 defeat, but I'll go for a very decent 1-1 draw.

Conlon ? Based on what ?

Energy, decent in possession; I think he's a good player personally. Would give us the battle we're going to need in the middle.

Obviously with his injury and suspension he hasn't got going this season but I still think he's a very reasonable League 2 midfielder who needs to develop his right foot.

He's down the pecking order because Burgess and Taylor have the shirt.

Also he's extremely rash and Grant will wind him up. For me I haven't noticed he's been missing nor Manny for that matter which is testament to the lads in the team

But maybe it is like the situation with Joyce, nobody noticed him until his suspension.

That daft elbow aside, I fail to see an example of Conlon being rash.

All I know is he's very tidy in possession, battles well, and has a very good workrate, which is what we need today. As good as Taylor can be he has a tendency to let scrappy midfield battles go past him. I'd go with Atko, Conlon, and Joyce to comptetly stifle the middle.

Bristol Rovers he cost us with was it 2 yellows in 5 minutes. Possible one other red card , I'm probably wrong.

It's all about opinions mate , just agree to disagree amicably. I'm not his biggest fan as you can gather. Scores the odd worldy but I'm not totally sure what he offers , I feel he is weak , remember him getting brushed aside by Tranmere , 10 seconds later Norwood scored.

Anyway I'm not going to rant on , just my preference is for Taylor, Burgess or Atkinson, given that Joyce is a shoe in
