Bournemouth are considering pursuing a compensation claim against Hawk-Eye,whose mistake may have contributed to their relegation from the PL.

This follows Sheffield United's goal against Aston Villa which was not detected by Hawk-Eye's goal technology system.

If the ref had bothered to go over and look at the VAR screen he would have seen it was a clear goal.

Because Mike Riley had told them not to.  And heaven knows why VAR didn't check it.

So the referee is no longer in charge of the game.

VAR seemed to work quite well during the World cup , wasn't there even a decision given in the final itself ?

I have not seen one Premier League referee consult the screen all season, had to be a directive from above ?

It's been a total disaster all season long

A few PL stats:-

Brighton covered the most miles on the pitch - 2,656 miles.

Newcastle least with 2,445 miles.

Kyle Walker's sprint at Chelsea earned him the fastest player trophy at 23.49mph.

Southampton finished with a goal difference of minus nine, the same score they beat Leicester with earlier in the season.

Newcastle United takeover has collapsed. Safe to say the toon fans aren't happy and are planning to boycott the season. Also saw something online about the PL being influenced by a third party and the Saudi consortium are planning to take legal action.
