Premier League 2019/2020

Takes  a few games to get match fit,  so slow paced.  Only  of a consequence for a few teams involved in relegation or euro places.  Also a few Cup games once things have got going. Hopefully, but not optimistic that a few quid will float down to the lower leagues.

It will take 3-4 games for teams to regain match sharpness, maybe longer, by which time the season has gone. I agree it's all about Sky money and finances at the top end.

I imagine the warm weather won't help with the pace of the games either. Or the drinks breaks. Or the five subs.

As you say, it's just a question of finishing the season quick, hold on to as much TV money as we can, and move on.

The games are really not the same without a crowd. Still, it's given us a tiny bit of "excitement" to while away the boredom.

I've posted this on here rather than start a new thread.

FA Cup

Shameful tactics from Newcastle, really is an embarrassing watch. Vale gave it more of a go in January.

Other than winning on penalties I've no idea what they are trying to achieve.

Bearing in mind these are Premier League players we are talking about.

City are excellent but come on Bruce this is a dreadful effort. Love to know his plan B if City take the lead.

With all the errors on VAR last night I've just had a lightbulb moment.

Can they not just put the linesman from the Cheltenham game in charge of it ?

He put eagle eyed action man to shame with his vision from 300 feet away.

The perfect guy for the VAR portakabin

VAR should be scrapped, not fit for purpose.

3 VAR decisions last night and all of them wrong, they weren’t even close .

Agree, not good enough, that decision against Villa could cost them millions.

And that ludicrous disallowing of the Palace goal could save the millions!  Fortunately that diving toerag Grealish didn’t get away with it thanks to VAR

Yet strangely wasn't booked. Another anomaly with VAR . It's a yellow once the decision is rightly reversed.
