I would put Conlon in for Burgess personally.

I think the midfield of Joyce sitting and Taylor and Burgess pressing is perfect and helps the team break and press, even when Oyeleke is back he wouldn't get in my team the same with Conlon.

The great thing with the aforementioned players, less so with Joyce, is that there’s huge scope for them to improve, which can only be a good thing.

Interesting the Sentinel marks

Pope got 6.5 the 9th best player in the reporters opinion.

Yet someone on here suggested I needed help because I said he would not of been in my top 5.

That's why football is such a great game as we all have our own opinions whether right or wrong.

Luckily not everyone on here resorts to personal insults if they disagree .

You said Gibbo was MOTM by a country mile yet the Sentinel reporter has only given him 0.5 more than Pope!!

The midfield would come to a standstill if you did that. Conlon has been a big disappointment towards the end of the season and the start of this, he's slow, too much time on the ball and always and I mean always passes it backwards. We dont need another player similar to Joyce, we need energy as we play pressing football and Conlon doesnt give that.

I would say Conlon's main attribute is his energy.

If everyone was fit and on form my midfield three would be Joyce, Taylor and Oyeleke.

I'd be surprised if anyone disagreed although getting Oyeleke fit remains the club's biggest problem. If fit he's probably the first name on the team sheet.

Does anyone know how his recovery is doing?

I think the club will be reluctant to give a specific date for his comeback, however I was under the impression that mid January was previously mentioned.

If all goes well and we are lining up with a midfield of Joyce, Taylor and Manny from February onwards, along with a couple of new signings, it sets us up nicely.
