Match Thread: Port Vale v Cheltenham Town

Recommended Posts

Tough run coming up, so there is the need to focus on the league amidst the cup excitement. Worrall back from suspension hopefully will give us a huge boost, needed with Cheltenham seeking revenge with missing a trip to the Etihad as well as points. . Expecting a draw unless Pope can recreate his magic against the visitors, or someone else do the business?

I’d play Pope with Worrall back to feed him (Woz statistically is the most accurate crosser this season in league two) and they will be scared of Pope after what he did to them just a couple of weeks ago.

Chance of a win which we need to take to get back on track and think we will 2-1

Yes can only hope we get back to business and get three points . As fantastic as the cup is, we could do with keeping promotion prospects going g to the end of the season.

Looking forward to seeing Wozza back in the team.

Fancy us for 3 points. Team picks itself. Fancy Pope for a goal or two. Think he’ll be in the Cheltenham defenders heads after what he did in the cup game.

Cheltenham have a few injury problems, Varney is still out and now Reuben Reid is ruled out (injured against us in the cup, came back and broke down again) and Chris Hussey who is an excellent crosser of the ball is also doubtful.

It will be good if Reid is out, the game changed in our favour at Cheltenham after he went off injured.

Hammy has gone so will be missing along with Varney so severely weakened attack.

We could do with a win to keep in touch with the play offs.

Cheltenham unbeaten away since August.

Built on solid defence.

Let's hope Popey unlocks them again.

Expecting a tight, even, game that could go either way.

A fair assessment. Let's hope the Pope can repeat his scoring feat in the FA cup game!
