Pretty sure that means they'll bring in a centrehalf; probably with a view to next season with Legge turning 35 this year. I'd imagine they have someone lined up.

Legge looks like he's got another season in him.

We also have Brisley and Crookes as cover, so I reckon we are quite well covered in that area.

Players legs go very quickly at Legge's age and Vale Park hasn't been a happy hunting ground for aging centrehalves when there legs are gone. Some of the smaller grounds like Carlisle they seem to be able to go on for ever. I'm sure they'll give Legge another year but they'll also want someone 6ft 3 / 4 who they see as a genuine alternative for the start of next season. Its also the most specialist position on the pitch. What we don't know is if there is a recall option with Kennedy.

On a side note, Jack Taylor 6ft 1 midfielder (aged 21) with 57 L2 and 68 NL games behind him goes for £500,000 from Barnet to Peterborough, where do Forest rate Jake in the money stakes I wonder.

I thought 32 was the cut off point?

I think you'll find it is 37 games in EFL (32 in Premier League)

Personally, I would be amazed if he was on that little at Forest. Remember Jordan Slew who we took on loan from Blackburn, and who we will come up against at Morecambe (perhaps}? Wasn't he on something ridiculous like £10,000 a week as a Blackburn reserve?

Yeah but didnt they pay over a million quid for him.

Kelleher at Macc would be a good replacement and probably would be happy to get paid every month.

I'd love Taylor to sign but it's not just the transfer fee. At the moment we only contribute to his wages so if he signs there are also additional wage costs to find. The owners and the manage are the only ones in a position to make the call really.

If the rumours are true we are in for a midfielder and defender does that mean Atkinson and Kennedy will be leaving?

Heard a rumour on Saturday that Forest we’re extending his loan until the end of the season.( and his contract).Obviously they have smelt the coffee of the money from the Man City game and hanging out for a big fee.

Helped by Sproson who is touting him round to other clubs to increase his fee.

100k for a player with 17 league games under his belt you,re having a larf.

I'd be surprised if Taylor was on much more than that.  Matty Longstaff at Premier League Newcastle and a regular in their match squad is on £850 a week at the moment!!

I think a bit of perspective is required on Taylor. I'd be delighted if he stays. He's done well with us. But he's shown no signs of being anything other than a decent L2 player so far.

isnt that what were after though for the next few seasons to try and get us in the play offs?

i wish we could add another 3/4 decent league 2 players

Think with Taylor he’s come on leaps and bounds since his first few games, remember a few certain fans criticising him, however this is a young lad who’d never played men’s football before and since then he’s been brilliant, he does have the off game don’t get be wrong but if he wasn’t in the team with his energy it would stand out.

If we keep him then he will get better and better with more games and experiance and then we will be getting interest from bigger clubs who will be bidding a few million on him

Interesting to read different opinions but from what I've seen Jake Taylor has already demonstrated he  has the skill levels to play at a much higher level than Lge 2. Just for starters, he has the knack of getting into great goal scoring positions (Can''t coach this), has excellent finishing skills, great skilful touches, excellent vision and weight of pass,  etc, etc. The only question for me is, "Has this 17 or so games been a fluke?", only people who can begin to answer that at PVFC are JA and Dave Kevan who see him in training and in games.

Yes but he,s not from Macc reserves like certain other people we have signed.
Not one of Askeys misfits.

Must admit I have been pleasantly surprised by Burgess but the only one out of Evans,Kennedy,Lloyd to step up to the team.

Even you with your rose tinted glass must admit they aren’t good enough for l argue football.

I haven't got rose coloured glasses on. I agreed that Lloyd was a terrible signing, just didn't like you constantly reminding us. We knew !!!

Evans really hasn't had a chance but has looked limited to be fair. Kennedy it appears doesn't want to be here and i doubt we will see him again.

Because of our budget etc, we had to have a few squad fillers/ chancers. As you say Burgess has paid off and he is a decent little player.

I thought Kelleher looked okay as did a few of the Macc players but you only have to look at the much praised Durrell, now plying his trade with York a good two divisions below us. I haven't seen enough of Kelleher to form my opinion because New Years Day we were a bit off colour and made them look better than they are.

I'm not overly keen or impressed with Archer either yet turn the clock back a couple of months some were suggesting he should be in the first team, i have no idea what that was actually based on .

By the way my post was pure sarcasm , not a dig at your good self.
