LB, Box to Box Midfielder (who can hold and pass the ball) and Striker would be good who can actually come into the first team and not take 8 weeks to get match fit, like we have seen over previous years.

Probably being looked at by the staff.  Hopefully we will see something happen shortly and allow us to push up the league.  We must be a club players look at now as a progressing club and would be a good option in their career.  Good owners and management staff who actually have a plan.

Hopefully we will see some of the fringe players leave either on loan or contracts cancelled, as they don't seem able/willing to push for saturday squad places after the other nights game.  If they can't motivate themselves against Salford, then they will never do it and are taking wages we could use for players who can motivate themselves to push into the first team squad.

They'll be looking at him as a replacement for Kennedy I'd guess.

Possibly. But having a read up on him right back seems to be his main position, so possibly he’s covering both areas of the pitch if we get an injury or suspension.

Jacob Mellis and Krystian Pearce made available by Mansfield.

I'd have them both here in a heartbeat. Pearce has been one of the best centre halves at this level in recent years, and Mellis is the attacking passing midfielder we lack.

Both, reportedly, have been quite disruptive in the dressing room. Mellis has had problems off and on throughout his career. I liked Pearce when he was here before and at 30 has a few years in the tank. Could be a decent alternative to Legge, although guessing he's on a big wage. Mellis - wouldn't touch him, too much baggage. Type of player who could destroy the dressing room.

Considering we won't break up the partnership of Legge and Smith, and Peace will want 1st team football, and Askey refuses to engage with troublesome characters (look at the removal of Whitfield, Hannant, and Rawlinson), you're right, its very unlikely we sign them.

Monty continues to impress, after picking up two MOTM's against Swindon and Macc, being one of our best players vs City, and part of a clean sheet today. He was the only player carrying the ball and looking dangerous.

I'd be alright if we didn't sign a left back; anyone signed is unlikely to usurp him, in the form he's been in since the move there.

It is his best position. Monty is a LB. Love he telescopic legs. Has a gaff in him, but who doesn't at this level? Problem is he's a bit injury prone. And I don't fancy Crookes as cover.

As a converted winger Monty is used to playing on the flank rather than centrally, which helps with the transition to FB.  He just needs to learn concentrate a bit more  as there's usually going to be nobody behind him if he makes a mistake.  Also learn when and when not to dribble the ball out.  Otherwise he has good pace, a bit of skill, is strong enough, can tackle and is a surprisingly good header of the ball.

Nothing wrong with Crookes as cover,
