I Follow Help Please - Newbie

Soul Intent

I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I'm looking into I-Follow on behalf of someone else and I just wanted to be certain I'm advising correctly.

As they are UK based does that mean that they can only access audio and extended highlights? I've seen some paragraphs reference live video but is this only if you are outside of the UK?

Any help appreciated, cheers.

I believe, but am not 100% sure so you should check, that with the audio UK pass you do get the full 90 replay available next day. But not live stream generally. Which is of course a major bonus if true. I'm amazed this is not clearer, but the ifollow website seems to say so.

One thing I wouldn’t recommend at all is getting a friend who lives abroad to subscribe on your behalf with a foreign credit card, nor would I recommend using a VPN.

I agree with you, but am curious why you think this Santa?

Weekend games in the UK are generally audio only - there is/was the occasional exception during the International break. This is to preserve the 3pm "Blackout" - an initiative to try and preserve attendances at Saturday afternoon games.

Midweek games in the UK are generally live video for which you pay an extra cost. The only exception is if your game has been selected for live TV broadcast.

If you're abroad I believe you can get live video of all the games as in most cases you wouldn't be able to get to the game even if you wanted to so the "Blackout" rules don't apply.

So to watch these mid-week games do you have to already subscribe to I Follow and then you just pay an additional fee, or is it ever possible to purchase the one individual live video stream, i.e. pay-as-you-go?

Cheers.

You can buy on a match basis. But if there are a few games available in one month, you can get a month pass. Which would work out maybe better value? Don't forget though it does not cover FA cup. And there are no international breaks coming up.

I live abroad but pay with my UK bank card. Registering is free. It's then 5 pounds a game or 15 for a month. There's a season long option as well. You don't get FA cup games as video, just Radio Stoke commentary. I mix and match depending on which time zone I work in between paying per game and for a month. Overall I'm happy with the service, particularly as my wife and kids have got used to not Skyping me half way through a match on Saturday. Certainly worth a fiver for the matches you can't get to live when video is avaiĺable in the UK. Not really a substitute for going live but a lot better than just a Radio Stoke commentary.

I think it's separate. In that:

1. The monthly UK subscription is for audio commentary from all the games.
2. The live stream is a separate one-off "event"

So, I think you can buy an "event" without having the audio subscription but I don't know for sure as, living in Aylesbury, I have an active audio subscription but whenever I buy a video ticket it comes up as a separate purchase.
