darren1810 163 Report post Posted December 1 Almost seems fate with the new positivity, the gig , the difficult draws so far etc that we get a biggy which would be huge reward to the new owners. Given our luck I expect Oxford or Reading away
Santa 172 Report post Posted December 1 We've had two awkward ties come out of the hat already this year, so we're in credit and ought to get a bit of luck this time in the draw. in general we're long overdue a plum FA cup tie. Whatever our targets/expectations are for this season, a dose of cup fever would be the icing on the cake.

Guitar Ray 107 Report post Posted December 1 I’d take one of the big boys away rather than some lower league banana skin at home. As for the Scum, it’d be nice if they were knocked out in front of their own fans by Fylde or similar

Doha 355 Report post Posted December 1 3rd round is £135,000. Fylde. Would be tv money too. Lowest ranked side left would be the best chance of getting to the 4th round having already made £300,000+ for January or VP investments.
TJHValiant 85 Report post Posted December 1 A big club at home. That simple. We have not had a classic Vale Park one for years. Winnable would be something like Watford at home.If we got a Liverpool or the like it is doubtful an upset would be possible. Depressing draw would be away to a league 1 club or something like Barnsley.

In the first round they were drawn away to Yeovil, a 608 mile round trip. The game was called off an hour or so before kick off so the fans had to travel a second time midweek. They got through and were then drawn away to Exeter. They came back from 2-0 down to get a draw this afternoon. Any fan who has done all of those trips will have travelled 1,890 miles! If anyone deserves a home draw, the monkey hangers do!

Vale fan in Alsager 82 Report post Posted December 2 I’d like a decent draw for the owners and a tie versus if drawn at home against a club who will sell out there allocation ,but also a tie which gets folks interested in going Vale regularly as they may come along to a cup tie and enjoy the special atmosphere which I have been lucky to witness during the Rudge years but none of the young have witnessed anything since in the FA cup . 62 v any premier league side at home and away v Chelsea Tottenham or Man Utd /City or Arsenal . Id like us get someone who we can beat first though the lowest ranked side left in the competition would be a good draw as we can pocket money and move on. Either way off work tonight will have a Guinness in hand and watch the draw excited muchly that we are in it UTV
SFBT 118 Report post Posted December 2 We've had two awful draws so far and prospered. A windfall would be lovely, but is not essential. The Shanahans are building a solid foundation for years of steady improvement. Enjoy the journey.

Or someone crap with big support like Newcastle or West Ham who are beatable with all the changes they make
