People missing the point. Robbie Williams concert will attract people outside the area and many on the drink..also it won't be a crowd of 18,000 more like 30,000 plus. I will stick my head on the para phat and say I don't believe the location and road infrastructure around the ground and the town will cope.  Nor do I think the area will be respected by outsiders

When was the last time Burslem had a crowd of 30k? The whole area will come to a standstill and many residents won't be able to use their cars or go about their daily lives without inconvenience.

Let's hope we don't get through to the next round of the cup then and draw one of the big 6 at home. Traffic would be chaos and the locals won't be able go Asda.

I give up we do have some weapons on here.

Stadium concerts I have attended usually have the band in front of one of the goal ends. As the Hamil facilities are far superior possibly set the stage up in front of the Bycars.

Would agree with this.

I think they'll erect the stage at the Bycars end then you have premium seating in the Lorne Street and Railway (up to the half way line) then cheaper seating in the Hamil End of the Railway and the Hamil itself. Plus, of course, people on the pitch. I'm guessing though.

Will be very interesting to see how they pull this off and what improvements to the ground are made for this.

As you are directing a specific question to Rob I would suggest you contact him directly, not off topic in a forum.

It's extremely relevant to this thread, yet another one he is allowed to troll and derail despite previously being banned. Sure I've read on here before that it is OVF policy that once you're banned, you're banned. Whotobeakiller has acknowledged on a number of occasions he was the previously banned user Carlllll, banned for racism, yet is allowed to troll with impunity. Top moderating.

Finally.

It's a specific question about a specific poster directed at a specific person. Nothing to do with the thread...... again I would advise you to contact Rob directly if you want him to answer.

An Fa Cup match of 15,000 vs 40,000, or more, at a major pop concert with a national profile attached... Are you seriously making a comparison to both and saying they are at similar levels??

My thoughts exactly... The venue will be extended for higher capacity. Easily looking at 50k or more... Which is why more thought needs to go in this beyond a run of the mill Fa cup match

And that's before we talk about security concerns... Let's not go there

What are these security concerns that are different to security concerns at any other pop/ rock gig, festival, premiere league match, commonwealth games, Olympic Games , London marathon, or any other sporting event that attracts a largish crowd.

In the space of three posts you went from 30000 to 40000 to 50000, despite carol being on the radio saying she hoped it would be 20000. You haven’t got a clue. Where will they fit two and a half times the capacity? Going by your sums, live aid should have hosted 200,000 fans instead of 70000. You need to find something in life that makes you happy, because to get angry at such a positive thing for the area and local charities is really sad. We would never under any circumstances put burslem on the map in such a positive way.

The are multiple sites where various park and ride schemes could operate from and it would make sense that as many of these routes as possible be dedicated transport access, similar to the way that the Potteries Marathon comandeer  the roads. Providing that locals and other commuters are given adequate  notice  then I'm sure that the organisers can employ enough people who specialise in this sort of stuff.

As far as the NIMBY brigade are concerned,  maybe the Shanahans can hire a couple of buses to take them to Rhyl for the day

Have I missed something here?  Where has the talk of 50,000 come from?

As far as I was aware, the capacity is going to be set at around 20,000, to make it comfortably manageable, even though a few more could be easily accommodated. Maybe Robbie is thinking  of jacking Las Vegas in and doing a residency at Vale Park for the Summer? - Now theres an idea!

50,000 eh!?  Perhaps they are going to put seats on the Railway roof like the Scousers thought there were in 1964, when an unofficial crowd in excess of 50,000 squoze in.

There is a concert in Leicester the same day 50,000 tickets sold out, a group beginning with K, being held in the park

Funny that, I mentioned the bloke that fell through the Railway stand roof when we played Liverpool, didn't he pass away due to his injuries ?

A capacity of 20000 is a little disappointing, I was hoping for something closer to 30000. If set at 20000, getting a ticket will be almost impossible even with the early access ballot-codes etc..

Surely with the stage in the centre of the pitch, standing around the stage and all four stands open, 30000 could easily and safely be accommodated?
