I am surprised that they sacked Paul Tisdale, he has a 42% win record for them and got them promoted in his first season.  They have appointed Russell Martin as their new manager. It's his first job, and he only got his coaching badges this summer. He has no managerial or coaching record at all and his only connection with MK Dons was playing for them at the back end of last season.   It seems to be a reckless move by owner Pete Winkleman, and one of desperation.  However, there could be a new manager response from the players, who knows!  This is a game that we can win, if we play to our full potential, fingers crossed, we could do with a good Cup run.

Having a new man in charge didnt do much for our neighbours last night lol

Just came across this in one of our esteemed, red-top newspapers ;

"Suspensions - Cautions are now specific to the competition but red cards apply across all competitions.

... don't know whether to believe it or not...!

I think that is correct although Conlon was suspended from the first EFL Trophy game after being sent off last season v Bristol Rovers. Maybe that was because it was for 2 yellows or just as it was carried over from last season. Still confusing though.

Just found this which explains why Ryan Innis was able to play against us despite his red card against Wet Spam U21s for spitting:

"If the sending off offence occurs in an EFL Trophy match, the relevant suspension must be served exclusively in the EFL Trophy, unless specified by the FA."

just taken this from the FA website...

"Rio Christopher - Striking - Violent Conduct - Law 12 S2  All Non First Team   29.10.2019 -16.11.2019  3 Games

 Kieran Agard  Serious Foul Play - Law 12 S1   All First Team    02.11.2019 -  23.11.2019  3 Games"

....suggests Agard won't be featuring.

A big game and a very hard one too .

Would love Vale to progress a big ask but if we throw ourselves at the ball and keep the ball out of our net like we did v Crewe then i feel we have goals in us especially from the fantastic quality of ball in from Worrall whether that be a corner or cross in open play or a free kick .

Would love Vale to win so that we give the club more structure because of you get say Arsenal away third round then financially that’s gotta strengthen the club and let’s face it it also gets more bums on seats and that’s what it’s all about and creates a healthy interest in the club .

Thats what the Rudge years did .

Any good betting odds for FA CUP?

A Vale/Barnsley double pays 8/1. MK have scored 2 goals in there last 10 and have hired a Michael Brown-esque manager in Russell Martin. Stoke are awful but Barnsley looked pretty good in the game against Bristol last week, and somehow they aren't the favourites at home.

Despite it not being a great away day, I'm pretty excited for it, going but not sure if by train or car yet. Just hope the performance is the kind of the Bradford/Crewe games, rather than the Macc/Oldham ones.

The "pressure" is off for this FA Cup tie. I believe the lads will relax and enjoy it to the extent we will NOT lose. I would not be averse to a replay, to keep fans interested and the "buzz" around Vale Park.
