Match Thread: FAC1 Milton Keynes v Port Vale

Bouncing down the M1 on another Super Away Day, if our confidence is not high, when will it be? We have options up front,  the only worry is the MK managerial upheaval. A cup run is always a boost, one step at a time pick up £36k and take a new ball to the next draw. Things are never that simple but a 2 goal margin is what I want.

When the draw was made I was thinking what a crap draw, now, with our current away form, it’s a game we can win.

the money for Carol and Kevin would be nice, and not going into someone’s back pocket.

I am surprised that they sacked Paul Tisdale, he has a 42% win record for them and got them promoted in his first season.  They have appointed Russell Martin as their new manager. It's his first job, and he only got his coaching badges this summer. He has no managerial or coaching record at all and his only connection with MK Dons was playing for them at the back end of last season.   It seems to be a reckless move by owner Pete Winkleman, and one of desperation.  However, there could be a new manager response from the players, who knows!  This is a game that we can win, if we play to our full potential, fingers crossed, we could do with a good Cup run.

Agard got sent off in the weekend, does the suspension carry over to the FA Cup?

Apparently so according to The FA website. He is banned from all the next 3 first team games. Having said that, the website states that Port Vale’s Luke ‘James’ is on four bookings. Mind you we are not Premier League so they don't really care do they?

I can't understand that stuff on the disciplinary part of the website.  The rules clearly say:

"The accumulation of a set number of cautions by a Player in the same Football Category or Competition during a playing season will, subject to any applicable cut-off points, result in that Player receiving an automatic suspension and/or fine."

There is then a two tables at the end outlining what punishments will be for red/yellow cards in each of the different competitions.

That would suggest that Agard will only be banned for 3 EFL games and not the FA Cup?

Having read that a few times, I think that is indeed correct.

I could be so simple to write, but hey, let's make it into legal mumbo jumbo...

But it's odd then that you could get a 3 game ban in the FA Cup, your team may only get to play 1 game a season, so the ban could last for 3 years!!

Any unexpired part of the ban is cancelled at the end of the season according to the rules.
