Has anyone else noticed that just before an election we have a huge money surplus?...... how we can afford to spend gazillions on projects that "the people" are told they want/should have/need?..... how suddenly spending beyond what we can afford is good?

Would it be cheaper to give every citizen £1,000,000 and tell them to get on with it?

I wonder how many would leave for fresher fields?

I wonder how many believe manifesto promises? Or remember them one week after they win?

He was the chancellor before that though so had similar thinking and direction.Boris is politically completely different to May and Cameron. Similar situation if Corbyn replaced Blair. Complete different thinking and direction. So I can see the point the poster is making.

Just read that BBC Breakfast, rather than showing film from yesterday of a shambling Johnson placing the wreath upside down on the cenotaph, opted to broadcast footage from 2016 instead. They blamed 'a production mistake'. Absolutely appalling although I can't say I'm surprised.
