I'm not knocking Bennett but surely no one can deny that Popey leads the line better than anyone else at the Club. On the topic of Bennett maybe he would be more effective if he was to play as a second striker alongside Tom. Believe me there are other clubs monitoring the situation at the Vale and looking to bring the best target man in this league to their team.

If that were to happen then people would realise just how big a loss he would be to the Vale.

I will deny it in terms that they both have different strengths and weaknesses.  Bennett’s energy and movement suit the 433 system that we are successfully using.

He was outstanding at Bradford, changed the game replacing Pope at Salford, and generally has contributed a decent amount of goals and assists. He was unlucky when his early header was cleared yesterday.  At times he has also lacked impact.

Tom is more physical and dominant in the air, but lacks movement and becomes an easy static target against some of the giant centre halves in this league.  Our play is often ponderous and predictable when he starts.

it is great that we now have more than one option up top, where I can see Tom being used more from the bench than as a starter, where he can perhaps benefit against tiring defenders.  Cullen and Archer will no doubt have a role to play also.

What a sirry plick bet you are creaming your pants tonight.Enjoy.and keep taking the happy pills.

Best of it is you can’t see this post because I am one of the many millions on your blocked list.

Glad Askey took my advice and didn’t leave it until the last 10 mins to bring Popey on like last week.

Thought it changed the game and proved that Pope is still the best striker we have and should have scored but only denied by a worldie save by their keeper.

Who would have expected us to beat Bradford and then Crwho.

It actually showed what a poor side Crwho are and I don’t expect them to be in the mix at the end of the season.

If we can now get the best out of Cullen we could actually reach the play offs ourselves
Joyce was exceptional and helped the young lads to perform well.

Legge and Smith had Porter in their pocket and he never got a sniff at goal.

Artells tactics to get his players to fall down at the slightest touch failed and even he admitted Vale were the better team.

You still cant find it in yourself to praise Askey can you?? A positive post from you and yet no praise for the manager in it at all,the same manager who has turned everything around in the short time he has been here...…….what could the next season and half bring

Surprised someone didn’t fill him in.

Not sure what I regret more from yesterday. Dean W from Alsager (whoops!) not getting chased down and filled in or that Popey header not going in. Either event would have led to utter mayhem, it would have been fcūking brilliant.

The Manager wasted the budget signing players like Lloyd and Kennedy. He insists on playing one up front and just think what we would have achieved if we had continued to play the pressing game like the last two games.Who  chose the corner tactics against Oldham that prevented us from scoring and left it until the last ten minutes before bringing on Pope and Cullen.

Obviously he is still learning from his mistakes and hopefully improve as the season goes on.

I'd remind you of John Rudge's opinion that, if you get it right with 6 out of 10 signings you've done well. So if a couple of JA's have not come off, yet, he's not done too badly, has he?

Lloyd and Kennedy, come on absolutely dire.

At least they aren’t anywhere near the squad now and will hopefully go out on loan in January to make room for some decent players.
