Penalties

If players kept there hands to themselves then no matter how much cards are marked, nothing is given.  If you give the referee a decision to make there is always a chance it will go against you.

So our players stand there and get assaulted but do nothing about it.

The problem is that there are a lot of cheating bar stewards who are probably coached to fall down at the first opportunity.

Its up to the officials to suss out if players are diving and falling down at the slightest touch and then book them for simulation.

A few bookings for the cheating bar stewards would soon stamp it out.

But why are we getting the gormless and useless refs at Vale Park?

Obviously if Salisbury has been around for 10 years and is still in Div 2 he needs to be chucked out and not be forced upon any football team but the administrators still carry on appointing these clowns.

The Stevenage one was definitely a penalty. The Legge one the other week wasn't nor was the Bradford one.

The biggest argument against the Stevenage penalty the block on Crookes as their player ran around Bennett, by the player Bennett was marking..  The contact was minimal and there was at least as much contact made on a couple of instances in their box.

In my initial post I was contrasting the supposed shirt pulling by Crookes with the blatant attempt to disrobe Sokratis in the Arsenal game. Now in the Arsenal game they had VAR - the fact that no penalty was given at Bramall Lane shows that VAR is useless. Yet it is the need for extra officials to deal with VAR that means a load of refs from non league have been promoted to their level of incompetence. So football at the top is suffering because a useless system is being imposed on games and at the bottom end because useless officials are doing the job for which some are clearly not ready.

Useless refs are taken from the lower leagues to operate VAR and so equally useless non-league refs are promoted to replace them. The effect on the lower leagues is therefore negligible.

Thank goodness we have the 4th official as an extra pair of eyes to assist the ref.  Its not as if the 4th official is there and does nothing is it ? What ref wouldn't be happy to have his error pointed out by one of his fellow  officials who is  there to assist him and save any embarrassment later. Funny cant ever remember that happening. Seem to remember a lot of refs looking like total fools though having made a rash and wrong decision . The evidence seems to point to the  assumption  that's the opinion of themselves they want to cultivate.

Wow - When I read that last line I thought you had changed subject to Westminster MPs
