Unless they have a tent over the grass. No way this is on. Be like the game v bury at their place few years ago if it is. Was like watching ice skating

I'm not a groundsman and know little about these things but do we not cover the pitch if the forecast is heavy rain? Or would that make the grass sweat under covers and not help matters? How does it work? Surely if the pitch was uncovered it'll be saturated by now - and it's still raining. Due to ease off I think around 2.00 but blimey we've had some rain over the past 24 hours.

I’d speculate that the club will give it until midday before making a decision.

I think the covers we have are to protect against frost not rain.

Looking at the forecast it ain’t going to get better. It won’t stop raining until 3/4pm.

If it is waterlogged I would expect it to be called off, dangerous and detrimental to the patch as already said., next home game 12 Nov Newcastle21s

<ovf censored> hell. It's a bit of rain not a Tsunami. Wind your <ovf censored> necks in and get yourself over to the ground instead of fear mongering. More chance of an alien spaceship hovering over Burslem this afternoon than the game getting called off.

No trains in or out of Stoke. Could theoretically get to Crewe but I doubt the number 3 service bus is running. Could theoretically get a taxi but I think the A500 is flooded. 

So it looks like I’m not going today. Nor will a good number of Oldham fans coming from Manchester by train.
