I'm afraid our new owners made a cock up giving Askey a 3 year deal.

Let's look at the facts. The last 4 or 5 managers we have had have no league experience. (Askey 4 months before he was sacked). We have slid steadily down and down since Micky Adam's left. You dont have to be clever to see we need a manager with league experience to steady our sinking ship.

Askey must have been the only one that could not see at half time we needed changes, but no let's us go behind first. Bad manager end of.

3 year deal, or whatever, the length of contract doesn’t really matter these days anyway.

Correct. People make to much of formations. At the end of the day it’s 11 v 11. Yesterday pathetic if you can’t kick or pass you get nothing. Lost count of the amount of times we failed to find a yellow shirt. Then don’t get me started on being unable to clear a ball!

The main problem with the formation was that we had no width.

Midfield still the problem area for me and has been all season.

Watch their centre halves tackle on Archer to win the ball and set up the move for the winning goal, that was was utter determination and fight something we lacked yesterday, they had a point to prove.

Having said all that I hope they dont get next month either..........Only joking.

Plus everyone bar Askey could see this. The fact he waited until they scored to make a change speaks volumes.

The sub was waiting to come on when they scored,so he was in the process of making a change.

Even so it’s been the same every game. We leave it far too late to make a change and generally are reactive rather than proactive. Happy to sit at 1-1 or 0-0 and wait for something to happy rather than us making something happen. Even though we were in the process of making a change it was too late.

And your solution would be ?

We’ve improved on last season; the goals for comparison shows that we’ve sorted our main Achilles heel in the main.

Yesterday was dire and we’ve been poor since half time at Orient really discounting the second half against ten men last weekend.

Need to get back to doing what was working and get the ball on the deck next week and push on. If we can only lose 4 times in our next 13 then it would be good progress.

Angered by the performance but hopefully thats one we now look to get out the system next week and put right.

I’m not interested in a 15th place finish. For me it should be at least the play-offs. We have the squad to achieve this. By Askey’s own admission, all teams are much or a muchness in this league so there is absolutely no reason for us not to achieve this.

i wonder what Crewe’s expectations are now?? They’ve hardly flashed the cash and yet look at them.

You do understand how Crewe have brought through young players ? They have struggled for the last 2 seasons but last Christmas time it began to click and they finished strongly, they have continued with virtually the same squad, they kept faith with Artell and now they are reaping the rewards.

Ng, Kirk,Ainley Wintle  and Lowery are capable of playing at a far higher level thats why they are doing well.

Once he made changes nothing changed. We were second best end of. Wouldn't have mattered if he made the changes before or after their goal. We just need to learn from it and move on to next week. Alot of talk about formations, truth is, macc wanted it more, every tackle they made showed it. We got what we deserved, nothing. Fingers crossed Bradford scouts were watching and fingers crossed we can make amends on Tuesday.

Of course it would have made a difference. If that’s the case why bother having subs?  I’m quite sure many sides underperform and then make subs and can change the game. We were dire. We should have changed it early and could have changed the game.

The difference between us and Crewe is firstly they have a plan, they have an academy and they have stuck with it through thick and thin , and secondly they have a good manager who recruits very well. Blackdog names the young players, but they also have an experienced strong spine of the team with Hunt Green, Powell ,and Porter who would all get into our team. Its hurts to praise them, but its football and sometime you have step back and admit they are doing well simply because they are organised !

Plus they weren't owned by an asset stripping toss pot for seven years.
