I wouldn’t describe it as forgettable. The complaint opposite. Thenplayers should be reminded of it and training tomorrow morning.

The problem is they think that they just have turn up to beat sides lower than them.

The problem is these sides are fighting to stay in the league and will not just roll over to have their bellies tickled.

We have to match them with desire to win.

We have a run of winnable games (including Crewe) but must perform from start to finish or we will get punished.

Today we had the perfect goal start then allowed them back in the game with sloppy play.

We shouldn’t feel sorry for teams like Macclesfield and hammer them when we have the chance.

This time last year we’d just been thumped 6-2 by Lincoln. We were 16th on 14 points, W4 D2 L7. Interestingly we’d scored only 13 but concede 19, albeit 6 were in that game. With our position now, W4 D5 W4 with 3 more points and 18 scored but 20 conceded.

On the face of it, we haven’t really made much progress.

Yet is more experienced than a Crookes on whom it is often open season on here

Gibbo had an off day. Crookes never has an on day. He is not a LB sorry. Woeful again today. His agent Sproson never mentioned his numerous cack ups today, whilst hammering Gibbo and Smith time after time, and belittling Macc. Woeful from Vale, woeful from RS.

Very true, he does need to be dropped but I think he’s got to cosy with not having no real competition especially with the injury s in midfield.

id be putting Taylor there at LB and having a middle 3 of Joyce, Atkinson and Burgess give something Crookes to think about

We haven't to be honest mate. A bit, but not much. Today was embarrassing. Bested by Macc. Tells you where we are.

Both full backs were hopeless exposed because our midfield was so narrow.

That’s a 21.5% improvement if you consider points alone.

It would be much much more if you consider performances... and yes today’s was terrible, but this season will not be decided on individual games... to say we haven’t made much progress is a bit of an overreaction.

Depends how you look at it. We look far worse defensively. We’ve improved drastically up top and at home but definitely haven’t away from home. i think we are better than last year (not difficult) and impressed against some decent sides at home. But games like macc we should be going there for the 3 points and winning. I read a post earlier saying why should we just expect to beat them? The reason is they’re a very poor league 2 side. Most of their players would be get in another league 2 team. Very disappointed today and can’t see where we will win an away game. Just got to hope we keep churning out good displays at home I guess.

We weren't the only ones in L2 to come unstuck against lowlier opponents today. Northampton being stuffed at Scunthorpe has to rank alongside our result today as being unexpected.

A bad day at the office - every team has them. I expect a reaction against Stevenage; if we don't get one then and only then will I start to get worried.
