Request for help paying tribute to a life long Vale Fan

Hi All,

Please can I ask for your help to pay tribute to our Dad John Cooke who sadly passed away on 13th September 2019 aged 66 years.

He was a life-long Vale fan who never missed a home match. He had been a season ticket holder for over 30 years, most recently sitting in the Railway Stand.

A picture of him will be shown on the scoreboard and it would truly mean a lot to our family and friends if you can join us for a round of applause on the 66th minute at Saturday’s home game against Morecambe.

Thank you & we appreciate your support.

I’m sure anyone reading this will, like myself, wish to offer their condolences. I’m also sure that there will be a great response to your request for a minutes applause.

On behalf of all of John Cooke's family and friends I wanted to say a massive thank you to every single fan for what they did yesterday. We were completely overwhelmed by the response, everyone was on their feet clapping, we really could not have had a better tribute to him. He would have absolutely loved it and the fact that Tom Pope scored straight after was unbelievable, I am sure my Dad was watching over that one!

Thank you again, it is a day that we will never forget. This is a really special club and we are proud to be part of the Vale family,

Up the Vale!
