Pope will still score goals a few years down the line if you have players around to do the running for him. 

Slow start today and took us a while to get going. Yes, they having a player sent off helped our cause, but how many times in the past have we played against 10 men and looked almost clueless? 

Solid win and performance with more to come from the team. A win away to Macclesfield next week and we'll be around the play-off positions with a lot to look forward to. Great stuff.

Well put.  Pope is not finished but people need to know he will not always play from the start a lot of the matches this season.  It depends on the style of play Askey wants the team to play.  But Pope certainly showed how to score and what the the younger strikers need to do in front of the goal.

I thought Atkinson, Pope, Worrall and Joyce had good games. There was nothing Brown or any GK could do about their sublime goal. I thought others were bang average with the exception of Amoo (is he fit), Crookes is the lad a left back, and Bennett I struggle to see what he contributes to the team. Defiantly not an inspired substitution as I don’t know what he contributes to the team.It’s time to give Archer a run if he’s fit.

Sorry to disagree, Playa, but Bennett changed the game. His movement allowed more space for Pope and, in my opinion, should start at home.

Couldn't agree more PVFC and if I was Ritchie Bennett I would be picking Popey's footballing brain every second, every training session of every day

Introduction of Bennett, switch of formation (uncharacteristically bold move from Arthur) and Joyce's wonder strike changed what looked like it was going to be a frustrating afternoon to a comfortable win in the end. Played really well second half.

Massive credit to Atkinson coming in, did really well.
