In my opinion he's on a par with Crooks in terms of his development. Steady lads who could push on. Unlikely Crooks there's a side to him that gets him in trouble every game.

No comparison for me mate. Crookes is a journey man make shift LB at the moment. Gibbo's a real prospect. Sure, he has a lot to learn. Most of all to keep his temper under control and keep his gob shut.

Must have missed your post against Macc , oh you didn’t post because we won that game . Your only posts are to slag someone off. True Vale fan .AGAIN.

Actually I was on holiday and didn’t comment.

According to off Lloyd had a blinder and everyone was saying he should have been taken off.

How we won playing with 10 men [ Lloyd was playing) I don’t know.

Just admit he isn’t good enough at this level and should not have been signed.

The worrying thing is if Garlick is true to form he has already made 5 appearances and could have his contract extended like Tonge and Pugh last year.

At the moment they’re both young players still learning their trade in their respective positions. Gibbons has more experience playing in his position and more first team experience so the comparison is unfair.

I can forgive his booking on this occasion. Their player went down cheaply, trying to con the ref into giving a penalty. Gibbons naturally reacted to this.  Their player then reacts and the ensuing melee is what causes the ref to book Gibbons although their player is almost entirely at fault.

I know that this going to be an unpopular opinion, but how anyone can say gibbo should be player of the season is beyond me.

I don't think he's particularly bad, but he makes bad decisions, gives away possession alot and is caught out positionally. Going forward he's a threat, but going back I find him to be suspect.

He’s thick as fcuk. Constantly picking up stupid bookings or seeing the red mist. Stupid boy.

Toyahw - That can be leveled at most young men his age in all walks off life - could also be a slogan for the wall of the dressing room but aimed at all

Very harsh there I think. Yes lots of learning to do, same as any player but he adds a lot to the team and will be a big miss. Just got back and watched the goals. Arguably 3 defensive mistakes for them, the first one he’s got inbetween Joyce and Gibbons, but Joyce was certainly with their lad as they went into the box, his body shape is awful as he’s just facing the ball, if he opens out a touch he would see what’s around him and be able to see the man and the ball, but equally with some communication to tell him step back a yard or 2 and he could win it. Poor header from Crookes for the second straight to the edge of the box, great finish though from their player. The third on the replay doesn’t show Legges decision to head it when there’s no one near him in the box and he struggles to get back with their striker who’s virtually got a free header. Plenty of positives in that first half, plenty for Askey to think about in the second too.

I don't mind his aggression. Rather that than a passive approach to the game. Today's booking he didn't deserve. He took exception to the Orient's forward attempt to win a penalty, gave the forward a mouthful then the Orient player got up and grabbed Gibbons's shirt and that's when the melee started as Pope amongst others ran in to defend Gibbons. The net result was two bookings for Vale and one for Orient.
