I wonder how Mitch is enjoying the uncompetitive nature of U23 football and the snails pace of 2 matches a month on average.

It was a weird one that. Surprised Leicester picked him up after he was released by Villa. He was good, but not great at L2 level for us.

I suppose his agent is happy. Time will tell if it was a good move for Mitch himself.

He's done a Joe Davis basically. That worked out well, currently residing in the where are they now files. Good luck to him. But no way was he anything other than a decent lower league FB. But - he was/is a decent lower league FB.

Mitch Clarkes agent just wanted the money and that is what he got. Mitch thought he was a Championship footballer because he had been at Villa, a Championship club - he wasn't as he didnt play for Villa. He was always "Potential" nothing more - Ok when he was 8 or 9 he may have been great but as the years passed he didnt progress enough and Villa let him go . He then saw that Vale could sign him at a level where he was Ok but it was still in his head that He was a championship player !   I assume his agent said Leicester were interested and poor old deluded Mitch thought he was going to get into the Premier Team - It could happen - odds were about 5000-1 but it could happen. In reality he is just another young lad who is treading water in his career and one day will be sitting in the pub telling people how he was a professional footballer at Villa and Leicester.  Most footballing careers are over by the mid 30s and whilst that might seem a long way off to him now it will race by and he will have missed the boat.  Good luck to him in whatever career path he chooses, shame he didnt want to be an active  footballer.

Gibbons>Clark. No question in my eyes. I don't remember there being any talk about Clark being one of our players of the season last year, even discounting the fact Brown walked away with everything. If he was as good as some of our fans/Clark/Clark's agent thought he was, he would have stood out more in one of the worst teams in the Football League.

Sproson has made no secret of being Crookes' agent. I think his biggest problem is his not being a Gibbo or a Mitch. Who are, at this time, much better full backs. This is not picking on him, and based on a load of performances not just one off day. How many goals come down our left?

For me he looked best as the left side of a back three. But this is a bit specialist. He's not strong enough in the air to be a CB in a back four. This is not slagging him off, just an observation. Maybe he will grow into the LB roll?

If you ask me where we are weakest at the moment it would left back, and lack of a driving presence in centre mid. That is not to say the players there are rubbish. Just where we are weakest.

I agree. I know some are looking at the criticism of Crookes as maybe a bit of a witch-hunt but it is an area where we are weakest, it’s nothing personal against the lad, he has had a short spell of good games this season, but I think in the basics of being a full back he’s been left wanting a bit. That’s not his fault as he’s been converted from centre half and he’s having to learn quickly. It’s no secret that teams look to get at us down the left moreso than the right, we all see this game in game out. This can only go on for so long before either Crookes improves on the job as he goes, or we try Campbell-Gordon or we get someone else in.

Leyton Orient and Port Vale face FA charge after on-field melee in League Two match http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49898594

The FA should look at the Orient player who caused the incident and ban him for 3 games because the handbags that followed was all down to him. Meanwhile, back in the real world, both teams are bound to be made an example of by the authorities. Clowns 🤡

Not sure what the potential punishment is?
